Como o Clube de Cinema de Porto alegre está fazendo 75 anos, vou resgatar algumas histórias e sessões clássicas do CCPA.
Certa vez, lá pelo ano de 1977 ou 1978, o P.F. Gastal programou na sessão dominical do Clube de Cinema, o que viria a última obra do genial cineasta espanhol Luis Buñuel: ESTE OBSCURO OBJETO DO DESEJO.
Buñuel faleceu, aos 83 anos, em 1983, na Cidade do México.
No último dos 35 filmes que dirigiu, Buñuel mais uma vez foi criativo e original.
ESTE OBSCURO OBJETO DO DESEJO conta a história de um homem que joga um balde de água numa mulher pela janela de um trem, em uma viagem que se inicia. Como todos a sua volta ficam jusitifcadamente desconcertados, Mathieu (Fernando Rey, magnífico), resolve contar seu envolvimento com Conchita, sua ex-criada de apenas 19 anos.
Aí entrou o gênio de Buñuel: Conchita é interpretada no filme por duas atrizes. a francesa Carole Bouquet e a espanhola Angela Molina vivem a, por vezes elegante e amorosa e outras vezes sanguinea e impulsiva Conchita, objeto do desejo e paixão do maduro Mathieu.
Aos poucos no filme, a gente vai entendendo em que situação cada atriz entrava em cena, conforme as emoções de Conchita. Coisa de Gênio.
Há muitos filmes em que um personagem é vivido por dois ou mais atores ou atrizes. Mas até onde me lembro, o recurso é utilizado quando o personagem aparece em idades diferentes de sua vida.
Aqui, em ESTE OBSCURO OBJETO DO DESEJO, Conchita sempre tem sua idade de 19 anos. As atrizes se alternam apenas conforme sua Conchita está se sentindo.

As the Porto Alegre Film Club is 75 years old, I’m going to rescue some classic CCPA stories and sessions.
Once, around 1977 or 1978, the iconic Chairman P.F. Gastal programmed for one of the Sunday sessions of the Cinema Club, what would become the last work of the brilliant Spanish filmmaker Luis Buñuel: THIS OBSCURE OBJECT OF DESIRE.
Buñuel died, aged 83, in 1983 in Mexico City.
In the last of the 35 films he directed, Buñuel was once again creative and original.
THIS OBSCURE OBJECT OF DESIRE tells the story of a man who throws a bucket of water at a woman through the window of a train, on a journey that is about to begin. As everyone around him is justifiably disconcerted, Mathieu (Fernando Rey, magnificent) decides to tell his involvement with Conchita, his 19-year-old ex-maid.
Then came the genius of Buñuel: Conchita is played in the film by two actresses. French Carole Bouquet and Spanish Angela Molina live the sometimes elegant and amorous and other times sanguine and impulsive Conchita, object of desire and passion of the mature Mathieu.
Gradually in the film, we understand in which situation each actress entered the scene, according to Conchita’s emotions. A Genius thing.
There are many films in which a character is played by two or more actors or actresses. But as far as I can remember, the feature is used when the character appears at different ages in his (or her) life.
Here, in THIS OBSCURE OBJECT OF DESIRE, Conchita always has her age of 19. Actresses alternate only as their Conchita is feeling.
