Acho o máximo as obras que criam universos fantásticos repletos de lugares, personagens e situações que nos levam além da imaginação. GAME OF THRONES, de George R.R. Martin é um dos mais bem sucedidos destes reinos fantásticos.
Apesar disso, nunca fui um apaixonado fã da série da HBO, mesmo ela sendo um mega sucesso mundial. Acho que os zumbis me afastaram do Trono de Ferro.
De qualquer sorte, fui olhar o primeiro capítulo de HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, a prequel que estreou neste domingo.
Fiquei completamente sem fôlego com o vôo do dragão que abriu o episódio. Era óbvio que HOUSE OF THE DRAGON era uma superprodução da HBO e teria efeitos especiais de última geração. Mas o vôo do dragão foi mesmo assim, de impressionar.
Quando o dragão pousou, os personagens do clã Targaryen, 200 anos antes da ação da série original entraram em cena.
Na minha opinião, o melhor do primeiro capítulo tinha passado.
O elenco famoso (Paddy Considine, Emma D’Arcy, Rhys Ifans, Matt Smith, Eve Best, Graham McTavish, Millie Alcock e Sonoya Mizuno) atua muito bem, desenvolvendo as mesmas traições, complôs e intrigas do enredo original.
Mas achei a violência demasiada. Foram mostrados em detalhes gráficos demais inúmeras decapitações, decepações de mãos e braços, esmagamentos faciais e até uma castração. Mas o auge da violência demasiada foi o parto mais sangrento da história do cinema.
Entendo perfeitamente quem, como fã da série, amou este primeiro episódio. Já li que foi a estréia com a maior audiência de todos os tempos na HBO. Sucesso justificado.
Ma eu achei que a violência explícita foi além da conta.
Prefiro o vôo inicial do dragão.

Anyway, I went to look at the first chapter of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, the prequel that premiered this Sunday.
I was completely out of breath with the dragon flight that opened the episode. It was obvious that HOUSE OF THE DRAGON was an HBO super production and would have state-of-the-art special effects. But the dragon’s flight was still impressive.
When the dragon landed, characters from the Targaryen clan, 200 years before the action of the original series, entered the picture.
In my opinion, the best of the first chapter was over.
The famous cast (Paddy Considine, Emma D’Arcy, Rhys Ifans, Matt Smith, Eve Best, Graham McTavish, Millie Alcock and Sonoya Mizuno) perform very well, developing the same betrayals, plots and intrigues of the original plot.
But I found the violence too much. Countless beheadings, decapitations of hands and arms, facial crushing and even a castration were shown in too graphic detail. But the height of too much violence was the bloodiest birth in film history.
I totally understand who, as a fan of the series, loved this first episode. I read that this was the best audience of a HBO’s release of all time. Justified.
But I thought the explicit violence was beyond measure.
I prefer the dragon’s initial flight.
