Desde que fui adolescente, tenho amigos que leram todos os livros do escritor Sul-Africano J.R.R.Tolkien (John Ronald Reuel Tolkien) da série O SENHOR DOS ANÉIS. raras vezes vi uma obra literária ter fãs tão apaixonados.
Houve um desenho de longa metragem no ano de 1978, de Ralph Bakshi, o qual fez moderado sucesso.
Há 20 anos atrás (incrível), estreava a trilogia filmada pelo produtor e cineasta Neo-Zalandês Peter Jackson. Eram produções incríveis que faziam jus à magia, encantamento e riqueza dos livros de Tolkien. O grupo de atores e atrizes reunidos por Jackson foi memorável: Cate Blanchett, Viggo Mortensen, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom, Sean Bean, Andy Serkis, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, John-Rhys Davies, Liv Tyler, Hugo Weaving, uma verdadeira seleção de craques. Os filme faturaram milhões e ganharam reconhecimento mundial.
Depois veio a primeira prequel, com Peter Jackson fazendo os filmes da trilogia O HOBBIT, com as histórias que vieram anos antes da trama dos filmes anteriores. O sucesso foi menor em escala, mas os filmes eram igualmente prodigiosos.
A Amazon Prime Video anuncia há alguns meses a produção do que se afirma ser a maior série de todos os tempos: O SENHOR DOS ANÉIS – OS ANÉIS DO PODER. É uma nova prequel, desta vez com 9 capítulos, outra vez narrando aventuras dos personagens de Tolkien anos antes de O HOBBIT.
Estreou mundialmente ontem.
Claro que fui dar uma olhada. Como a estréia foi em um episódio duplo, não consegui ver tudo depois de uma semana muito cansativa.
O que já deu para ver?
A produção é realmente extraordinária. Acho que um dos grandes desafios da Amazon é conseguir criar na tela pequena (ou pelo menos substancialmente menor que a dos cinemas) o deslumbramento das imagens dos filmes de Peter Jackson.
Pelo que já vi, tiveram êxito. As cenas se sucedem em imagens de tirar o fôlego. Tudo é lindo demais, luminoso, fascinante. Quando se vai para as trevas do Mundo, tudo é igualmente grandioso, mas assustador, ameaçador, perigoso. A cenografia segue nota dez.
Claro que ao ver a ótima jovem atriz sueca Morfydd Clark como Galadriel, é inevitável sentir saudades da Deusa Cate Blanchett que a viveu no cinema. Mas, pela amostra inicial, Clark consegue levar o desafio com alta competência.
Aliás, minha primeira impressão é que a série valoriza muito mais as personagens femininas em relação aos homens. Vou ver se esse viés feminino (ou feminista) segue presente na narrativa.
Com certeza vou ver com a atenção que este primeiro episódio merece neste final de semana.
Mas já dá para dizer que O SENHOR DOS ANÉIS – OS ANÉIS DO PODER da Amazon é muito mais que uma série, um acontecimento de 2022.

There was a feature-length cartoon in the year 1978, by Ralph Bakshi, which was moderately successful.
20 years ago (amazing), the trilogy filmed by Neo-Zalandic producer and filmmaker Peter Jackson debuted. They were incredible productions that lived up to the magic, enchantment and richness of Tolkien’s books. The group of actors and actresses assembled by Jackson was memorable: Cate Blanchett, Viggo Mortensen, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom, Sean Bean, Andy Serkis, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, John-Rhys Davies, Liv Tyler, Hugo Weaving, a true selection of stars. The films made millions and gained worldwide recognition.
Then came the first prequel, with Peter Jackson making the films in THE HOBBIT trilogy, with the stories that came years before the plot of the previous films. The success was smaller in scale, but the films were just as prodigious.
Amazon Prime Video announced a few months ago the production of what is claimed to be the greatest series of all time: THE LORD OF THE RINGS – THE RINGS OF POWER. It’s a new prequel, this time with 9 chapters, again chronicling the adventures of Tolkien’s characters years before THE HOBBIT.
It premiered worldwide yesterday.
Of course I went to have a look. As the premiere was in a double episode, I didn’t get to see everything after a very tiring week.
What have you seen?
The production is really extraordinary. I think that one of Amazon’s biggest challenges is to be able to create on a small screen (or at least substantially smaller than in theaters) the dazzling images of Peter Jackson’s films.
From what I’ve seen, they were successful. The scenes succeed each other in breathtaking images. Everything is too beautiful, luminous, fascinating. When you go to the darkness of the World, everything is equally great, but frightening, threatening, dangerous. The scenography deserves grade ten.
Of course, seeing the great young Swedish actress Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, it’s inevitable to miss the Goddess Cate Blanchett who played her in the movies. But, by the initial sample, Clark manages to take the challenge with high competence.
In fact, my first impression is that the series values the female characters much more than the men. I will see if this feminine (or feminist) bias is still present in the remaining narrative.
I will definitely see with the attention that this first episode deserves this weekend.
But I can already say that THE LORD OF THE RINGS – THE RINGS OF POWER by Amazon is much more than a series, it is an event of 2022.
