A NETFLIX colocou em cartaz o filme BLONDE, uma espécie de biografia de Marilyn Monroe escrita e dirigida por Andrew Dominik, a partir do livro de Joyce Carol Oates.
MM é, acima de qualquer dúvida, uma das grandes estrelas da história de Hollywood. Sua morte trágica aos 36 anos (suicídio, acidente ou assassinato?) apenas aumentou – e segue aumentando – o interesse em torno de Norma Jeane Mortenson, a loira que assombrou o mundo.
O filme de Dominik dura 2h47 min, certamente uma duração exagerada, o que fica evidente nas cenas repetidas que deviam ter ficado na sala de montagem.
Uma segunda objeção que vem sendo feita ao filme é a gratuidade de certas cenas explícitas, como um estupro, um aborto filmado em close e um blowjob presidencial de MM em John Kennedy.
Achei as três cenas ruins. Mais do que gratuitas, mal feitas. Seja a violência, seja a sensualidade – já ensinaram os mestres – passa longe do explícito. As cenas me pareceram vulgares.
Andrew Dominick tem muitos fãs pelo seu western O Assassinato de Jesse James pelo Covarde Robert Ford. Não é, nem de longe, um dos meus westerns (mesmo nas releituras) favoritos. Acho lento, arrastado e longo demais (2h40min).
Ana de Armas, cada vez mais linda, se esforça para segurar o filme. Acho que foi um trabalho acima das capacidades dramáticas da atriz, ao menos nesta fase de sua carreira.
É inegável que há diversos achados visuais no filme de Dominik. Além disso, o elenco é ótimo: Juliane Nicholson, Adrian Brody e Bobby Cannavale.
Mas, ao menos para o meu gosto, não elevam o filme ao patamar pretendido.
Para mim, fica na classe dos filmes que dá para ver mas será rapidamente esquecido.

Dominik’s film lasts 2h47min, certainly an exaggerated length, which is evident in the repeated scenes that should have stayed in the editing room.
A second objection that has been raised to the film is the gratuitousness of certain explicit scenes, such as a rape, a close-up filmed abortion, and MM’s presidential blowjob on John Kennedy.
I thought all three scenes were bad. More than explicit, they are poorly made. Whether violence or sensuality – the masters have already taught – it goes far from the explicit. The scenes seemed vulgar to me.
Andrew Dominick has many fans for his western The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. It’s not, by far, one of my favorite westerns (even in re-readings). I find it slow, drawn out and too long (2h40min).
Ana de Armas, increasingly beautiful, struggles to hold the film. I think it was a job beyond the actress’s dramatic capabilities, at least at this stage of her career.
It is undeniable that there are several visual findings in Dominik’s film. Besides this, the cast is good: Juliane Nicholson, Adrian Brody and Bobby Cannavale.
But, at least for my taste, they don’t elevate the film to the intended level.
For me, it’s in the class of movies that you can see but will quickly forget.
