Eu estava olhando o app do Sundance Channel quando me deparei com a série franco-inglesa THE LAST PANTHERS. Confesso que foi o elenco que me pegou: John Hurt, Samantha Morton, Tahar Rahim lideram o cast da série de seis capítulos. Fui de cabeça.
A história inicia com um roubo de diamantes realizado por um grupo de ladrões profissionais em uma joalheria em Marselha, na França. Na fuga, um dos assaltantes acidentalmente mata uma menina de seis anos. O assassinato eleva a caçada aos ladrões, fazendo todos os receptadores evitarem de receber os diamantes.
Ao mesmo tempo que a Polícia coloca um Detetive de elite para caçar os vilões, a Seguradora escala sua melhor investigadora para recuperar os diamantes “no matter what”.
Os personagens se deslocam pela Europa em um jogo de gato e rato que vai parar na Sérvia destroçada pela Guerra Civil.
Achei a série excelente. Claramente os Produtores privilegiaram a densidade da trama em detrimento da ação pura. A história é muito mais um drama que um filme policial comum.
Mas é justamente as diferenças entre os nacionais de cada país e os ambientes diversos onde a caçada se dá que tornam a série bem diferente do usual.
THE LAST PANTHERS é um ótimo programa.
I was looking through the Sundance Channel app when I came across the French-English series THE LAST PANTHERS. I confess that it was the cast that got me: John Hurt, Samantha Morton, Tahar Rahim lead the cast of the six-chapter series. I went headfirst.
The story begins with a diamond theft carried out by a group of professional thieves in a jewelry store in Marseille, France. On the run, one of the robbers accidentally kills a six-year-old girl. The murder heightens the hunt for the thieves, causing all bad guys to avoid receiving the diamonds.
At the same time that the Police put an elite detective to hunt the villains, the Insurance company assigns its best investigator to recover the diamonds “no matter what”.
The characters move through Europe in a game of cat and mouse that ends up in Serbia torn apart by Civil War.
I thought the series was excellent. Clearly the Producers favored plot density over pure action. The story is much more of a drama than an ordinary detective movie.
But it is precisely the differences between the nationals of each country and the different environments where the hunt takes place that make the series very different from the usual.
THE LAST PANTHERS is a great show.
