Stanley Tucci (sempre interessante de se ver) vive Jefferson Grieff, um homem condenado à morte que aguarda sua execução por ter decapitado a esposa. Por sua inteligência invulgar (o roteiro nitidamente se inspirou no Hannibal Lecter de Anthony Hopkins), ele passa a ser consultado sobre crimes próximo e mais distantes. Suas deduções invariavelmente levam à solução dos casos a ele submetidos.
Muito longe dali, na Inglaterra, um vigário (David Tennant outro ator diferenciado) acidentalmente comete um crime em uma situação que inicia com a proteção a um paroquiano e termina em um sequestro cruel de uma professora de matemática.
A jornalista que divide o apartamento com a desaparecida (Lydia West), intrigada com o sumiço da amiga, resolve recorrer ao serial killer que ela havia entrevistado pouco antes.
O cast ainda tem o ótimo Dylan Baker, Dolly Wells, Lyndsey Marshall e Louis Olivier.
Achei o ponto de partida da trama interessante, embora reconheça que o roteiro force a barra em situações pouco críveis.
Embora tenha o mérito de ter apenas quatro capítulos, a história por vezes se arrasta demais.
Não passa da categoria “dá para ver”. Tendo dois atores do nível de Tucci e Tennant, caracteriza um desperdício.

Stanley Tucci (always interesting to watch) plays Jefferson Grieff, a man sentenced to death awaiting his execution for beheading his wife. Due to his unusual intelligence (the script was clearly inspired by Anthony Hopkins‘ Hannibal Lecter), he is consulted about crimes near and far. His deductions invariably lead to the solution of the cases submitted to him.
Far away in England, a vicar (David Tennant, another distinguished actor) accidentally commits a crime in a situation that starts with protecting a parishioner and ends in the cruel kidnapping of a math teacher.
The journalist who shares the apartment with the missing woman (Lydia West), intrigued by her friend’s disappearance, decides to turn to the serial killer she had interviewed shortly before.
The cast still has the great Dylan Baker, Dolly Wells, Lyndsey Marshall and Louis Olivier.
I think the starting point of the plot interesting, although I recognize that the script forces unbelievable situations.
Although it has the merit of having only four chapters, the story sometimes drags on too much.
It doesn’t go beyond the “you can see” category.
Having two actors of the level of Tucci and Tennant, it characterizes a waste.
