Vi ontem no NOW a minissérie espanhola EL PADRE DE CAÍN, com dois capítulos com duração de longa metragem.
A trama enfoca um militar madrileno (Quim Gutierrez) que é designado para uma unidade no País Basco, no auge da luta contra o terrorismo do ETA. Para complicar as coisas, ele deixa a esposa grávida do primeiro filho em Madri.
O constante risco de vida (os atentados do ETA à época eram quase diários) mexe com a cabeça do jovem soldado que paralelamente ao árduo trabalho se envolve emocionalmente com a bela dona da pensão em que mora, vivida por Aura Garrido (EL CUERPO e MINISTERIO DO TEMPO).
O ótimo elenco tem ainda Patxy Freitez, Luis Bermejo, Cristina Plazas, Mariano Venancio e atriz espanhola Oona Chaplin (neta de Charles Chaplin e filha de Geraldine Chaplin).
A crueldade do terrorismo e seus métodos – independente das razões que o motivem – é muito bem enfocado na série. Mas, ao mesmo tempo, a trama questiona os métodos de combate ao terrorismo pelas forças governamentais,
O filme não faz concessões, Há cenas difíceis de serem vistas, mas o projeto garante a integridade do enfoque.
Vale muito a pena ver.
Yesterday I saw the Spanish miniseries EL PADRE DE CAÍN on NOW, with two chapters of a feature length.
The plot focuses on a soldier from Madrid (Quim Gutierrez) who is assigned to a unit in the Basque Country, at the height of the fight against ETA terrorism. To complicate matters, he leaves his wife pregnant with their first child in Madrid.
The constant risk of life (the attacks by ETA at the time were almost daily) messes with the head of the young soldier who, in parallel with the hard work, becomes emotionally involved with the beautiful owner of the pension where he lives, played by Aura Garrido (EL CUERPO and MINISTERIO OF TIME).
The great cast also includes Patxy Freitez, Luis Bermejo, Cristina Plazas, Mariano Venancio and Spanish actress Oona Chaplin (granddaughter of Charles Chaplin and daughter of Geraldine Chaplin).
The cruelty of terrorism and its methods – regardless of the reasons that motivate it – is very well focused in the series. But, at the same time, the plot questions the methods of combating terrorism by government forces,
The film makes no compromises. There are scenes that are difficult to see, but the design ensures the integrity of the focus.
EL PADRE DE CAIN is very worth seeing.
