Clube de Cinema Vai Exibir BLADE RUNNER, um Cult Movie que Sempre Vale a Pena Rever

Neste sábado, 21/1/2023, às 10 horas, o Clube de Cinema de Porto alegre vai exibir na Cinemateca Capitólio, o cult movie BLADE RUNNER, O CAÇADOR DE ANDRÓIDES, de Ridley Scott.

Certamente é um dos filmes que mais vi na minha vida. Até porque tem múltiplas versões.

Eu vi BLADE RUNNER pela primeira vez, em uma sessão do Clube de Cinema de Porto Alegre, no Cine Baltimore, em um sábado pela manhã. Era a maior tela de Porto Alegre. Saí do cinema, perto das 13 horas, como se tivesse sido atropelado. Mas meu sentimento era de ter visto um filme muito diferente.

Lembro de outra ocasião, na Praia de Torres, em um final de semana que, munido do DVD com todas as versões do filme, vi quatro delas em sequência, uma atrás da outra. Algo como 12 horas seguidas de BLADE RUNNER. 

Provavelmente BLADE RUNNER seja o filme com mais versões de todos os tempos. Segundo reza a lenda, há sete versões do filme: i) a versão protótipo de trabalho com 113 minutos (1982); ii) San Diego versão para pré-estréia; iii) versão do lançamento nos cinemas dos EUA com narração e happy ending; iv) versão do lançamento internacional nos cinemas com 117 minutos,; v) versão da TV Americana com 114 minutos e menos violência; vi) versão do Diretor (1992), com 116 minutos, sem narrativa, com a cena do sonho com o unicórnio e sem o happy ending; vii) versão final (2007), com 117 minutos, lançada em DVD, HD DVD, e Blu-ray com 5 discos (e depois em Ultra HD Blu-Ray (2017) e vários documentários do making off do filme.

Trata-se de um filme perfeito. Tem aventura, mistério, ficção científica, romance (e que romance), inovação, atmosfera totalmente noir, música incrível (ave Vangelis) e atores trabalhando no máximo de seu talento.

As paixões que BLADE RUNNER desperta, em minha opinião, tem muitas origens.

Inicia por sua origem, o livro “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” (algo como “Andróides Sonham com Ovelhas Elétricas?”), de Philip K. Dick, um brilhante ensaio futurista, como poucos se viu.

Depois, um Ridley Scott particularmente inspirado, disposto a fazer uma Los Angeles futurista, anárquica e misteriosa, da qual o espectador não consegue tirar os olhos um segundo sequer.

Ainda um elenco maravilhoso e excepcionalmente dirigido, com trabalhos antológicos, dos protagonistas Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer e Sean Young, aos coadjuvantes Edward James Olmos, Daryl Hannah, Joanna Cassidy e Wlliam Sanderson, todos impecáveis.

Por fim, cenas inesquecíveis, como o interrogatório, a perseguição a stripper, a replicante ginasta e, claro, o final na chuva com o monologo eterno.

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.”

“Eu vi coisas que vocês não imaginariam. Naves de ataque ardendo no ombro de Órion. Eu vi raios-c brilharem na escuridão próximos ao Portão de Tannhäuser. Todos esses momentos se perderão no tempo, como lágrimas na chuva. Hora de morrer.”

E, no fim, era apenas uma história de amor à vida!

This Saturday, 1/21/2023, at 10 am, the Porto Alegre Cinema Club will screen at the Capitólio Cinematheque, the cult movie BLADE RUNNER, by Ridley Scott.

It’s certainly one of the movies I’ve seen the most in my life. Also because it has multiple versions.

I saw BLADE RUNNER for the first time, at a session of the Clube de Cinema de Porto Alegre, at Cine Baltimore, on a Saturday morning. It was the biggest screen in Porto Alegre.

I left the theater, close to 1 pm, as if I had been run over. But my feeling was that I had seen a very different film.

I remember another occasion, at Praia de Torres, on a weekend when, armed with the DVD with all the versions of the film, I saw four of them in sequence, one after the other.

Something like 12 straight hours of BLADE RUNNER.

Probably BLADE RUNNER is the movie with the most versions of all time.

According to legend, there are seven versions of the film: i) the working prototype version with 113 minutes (1982); ii) San Diego preview version; iii) US theatrical release version with narration and happy ending; iv) version of the international theatrical release with 117 minutes; v) American TV version with 114 minutes and less violence; vi) Director’s Cut (1992), with 116 minutes, without narrative, with the dream scene with the unicorn and without the happy ending; vii) final version (2007), with 117 minutes, released on DVD, HD DVD, and 5-disc Blu-ray (and later on Ultra HD Blu-Ray (2017) and several documentaries of the making of the film.

It is a perfect film. It has adventure, mystery, sci-fi, romance (and what a romance), innovation, totally noir atmosphere, incredible music (ave Vangelis) and actors working at their best.

The passions that BLADE RUNNER awakens, in my opinion, have many origins.

It starts with its origin, the book “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” (something like “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”), by Philip K. Dick, a brilliant futuristic essay, like few others have seen.

Then, a particularly inspired Ridley Scott, willing to make a futuristic, anarchic and mysterious Los Angeles, from which the viewer cannot take his eyes off for even a second.

Still a wonderful and exceptionally directed cast, with anthological works, from the protagonists Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer and Sean Young, to the supporting actors Edward James Olmos, Daryl Hannah, Joanna Cassidy and Wlliam Sanderson, all impeccable.

Finally, unforgettable scenes, such as the interrogation, the pursuit of the stripper, the replicant gymnast and, of course, the ending in the rain with the eternal monologue.

At the end it was just a story of love. Love for the life.
