Logo na primeira cena, fica claro que foi inspirado (desastrosamente) na obra prima O SILÊNCIO DOS INOCENTES, de Jonathan Demme.
John Malkovich vive um serial killer de mulheres que foi preso anos atrás por uma dupla de policiais. Martin Lawrence (péssimo num papel dramático) achou o vilão, mas perdeu seu parceiro e a sanidade mental.
Arnaud “o Artista”Lefeuvre está preso em uma instituição mental que até tem um diretor meio zoado tipo o filme de Demme.
A Clarice daqui é a Detetive Mary Kelley (Melissa Roxburgh, a léguas de Jodie Foster).
O pastiche segue quando novos crimes imitam os do Artista e a policial vai pedir a colaboração do serial killer preso para achar o novo vilão.
Tudo no filme é superficial, amador e óbvio demais.
Acho que roteiristas e diretor não entenderam a profundidade e a excelência de O SILÊNCIO DOS INOCENTES.

The pastiche ensues when new crimes mimic those of the Artist and the police will ask for the collaboration of the arrested serial killer to find the new villain.
Everything in the film is superficial, amateurish and too obvious.
I think the writers and director didn’t understand the depth and excellence of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.
