Tenho observado que desde que o streaming colocou as séries na ordem do dia, a imprensa especializada oscila na forma de denominar o fim de cada série.
Os americanos adoram dizer que tal ou qual série foi “axed”. É o equivalente à “limada”ou “cortada a machadada”. Uma forma bem violenta de denominar o final do programa.
Em outros casos, a referência é de que a série “terminou”. Esta frase dá idéia de que tudo foi pacífico e o final era previsto.
Há, ainda, a expressão “não foi renovada”. Com a quantidade de séries, vários sites de entretenimento publicam quadros de renovação das séries, dividindo-as em “já renovada”, “sem definição” ou “cancelada”
Finalmente, há o caso das séries que terminam em uma plataforma, mas são “ressucitadas em outra. Foi o caso de LÚCIFER ou O DEMOLIDOR ou MANIFESTO. Os motivos são os mais variados. De desinteresse, a falta de audiência, até uma inadequação orçamentária para fazer novas temporadas.
Como fãs de séries, estamos sujeitos a todos esses fatores. Será que nossos personagens preferidos vão conseguir contar sua história até o final? Qual final?

I have noticed that ever since streaming put the series on the agenda, the specialized press has fluctuated in the way of naming the end of each series.
Americans love to say that this or that series was “axed”. It is the equivalent of “terminated” or “cutting with an ax”. A pretty violent way to call the end of the show.
In other cases, the reference is that the series just “ended”. This phrase gives the idea that everything was peaceful and the end was foreseen.
There is also the expression “not renewed”. With the number of series, several entertainment websites publish series renewal tables, dividing them into “already renewed”, “undefined” or “cancelled”.
Finally, there is the case of series that end on one platform, but are “resurrected on another. It was the case of LUCIFER or DAREDEVIL or MANIFEST. The reasons are the most varied. From lack of interest, lack of audience, to budget inadequacy to make new seasons.
As series fans, we are subject to all these factors. Will our favorite characters be able to tell their story until the end? Which ending?
