Ali ele enfrentou todo tipo de vilões e terroristas, políticos americanos corruptos, ameaças atômicas, biotecnologias devastadoras, perigos de todos os tipos, ameaçando os EUA. Marcou época.
Depois que 24 HORAS terminou, Kiefer tentou a sorte em DESIGNATED SURVIVOR, outra série em que viveu um político americano que vira Presidente quando um atentado mata todos que estavam à frente dele na linha de sucessão à Casa Branca. A originalidade do roteiro e um ótimo o elenco até seguraram a série, mas quando a Primeira Dama Alex Kirkman (a ótima Natasha McElhone) não renovou contrato e foi morta em um acidente de trânsito mequetrefe, a série desabou. A agente do FBI Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) também lutou pelo Presidente Kirkman, mas os roteiristas também resolveram matá-la. Acabou a série em baixa.
Vi os trailer de RABBIT HOLE muito interessado. Kiefer volta a protagonizar uma trama de suspense, agora vivendo o especialista em tecnologia John Weir, que é acusado de crimes que não cometeu, numa montagem eletrônica feita por um inimigo ainda desconhecido nestes dois primeiros episódios.
Achei o enredo muito confuso. Há a trama central do homem errado e perseguido tentando provar sua inocência. Mas ele tem um filho adolescente que vive com mamãe e que ele fica distante. Tem os traumas da infância e da relação dele com o Pai frio e abusivo. Tem um romance meio complicado com uma advogada de ONG (Hailey Winton), que o protagonista acha ser uma prostituta contratada para lhe trair e tem os colegas de trabalho que morrem (ou não) em um atentado à bomba.
É muita coisa junta em apenas dois capítulos.
Na minha opinião, não começou bem.
Senti muita saudade de Jack Bauer.

After 24 ended, Kiefer tried his luck in DESIGNATED SURVIVOR, another series in which he lived an American politician who becomes President when an attack kills everyone who was ahead of him in the line of succession to the White House. The originality of the script and a great cast even held the series together, but when First Lady Alex Kirkman (the great Natasha McElhone) did not renew her contract and was killed in a car accident, the series collapsed. FBI agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) also fought for President Kirkman, but the writers also decided to kill her. The series ended.
I saw the RABBIT HOLE trailers very interested. Kiefer returns to star in a suspenseful plot, now living technology specialist John Weir, who is accused of crimes he did not commit, in an electronic montage made by an unknown enemy in these first two episodes.
I found the plot very confusing. There is the central plot of the wrong and persecuted man trying to prove his innocence. But he has a teenage son who lives with Mom and he is distant. He has childhood traumas and his relationship with his cold and abusive Father. He has a somewhat complicated romance with an NGO lawyer (Hailey Winton), who the protagonist thinks is a prostitute hired to betray him and has co-workers who die (or not) in a bomb attack.
It’s a lot packed into just two chapters.
In my opinion, it didn’t start well.
I missed Jack Bauer a lot.
