O NOW coloca à disposição um thriller francês muito interessante: NOVEMBRO, dirigido pelo jovem cineasta Cédric Jimenez,
Os ataques terroristas de 13 de novembro de 2015 – com absoluta razão – traumatizaram a França e geraram vários filmes e documentários.
O de Jimenez é muito original. Ele enfoca o frenesi que tomou conta da unidade anti terrorista do Governo Francês nos momentos subsequentes aos ataques e os cinco dias seguintes, onde a caçada aos terroristas era uma questão de honra nacional.
O filme jamais mostra os atentados, uma escolha estratégica que incrivelmente só aumenta a tensão. Há agentes de inteligência mobilizados à noite, salas de reuniões frenéticas, ambulâncias e carros de Polícia correndo com sirenes, Paris à noite naquela data trágica, mas jamais uma imagem dos ataques em si. Achei bastante criativo e fora do usual.
O excelente elenco (Jean Dujardin, Sandrine Kimberlain, Anaïs Demoustier, Jérémie Renier, Lina Koudri e Cedric Khan) confere um toque de orgulho nacional ferido à produção, tornando-a ainda mais fascinante.
O filme ainda busca aprofundar – mesmo naquela hora extrema – o tema dos limites da ação do estado contra o terrorismo. Claro que naquele cenário havia um único objetivo, capturar os terroristas. Preocupações éticas estavam apenas na cabeça de alguns agentes.
Vi mais de um filme sobre os ataques e acho aquela noite em Paris um dos momentos mais terríveis da história recente do mundo. Apenas consigo tentar imaginar o terror que tomou conta de todos que viviam na Cidade Luz.
O filme capta isso muito bem. Há, por exemplo, uma cena em que os policiais estão interrogando pessoas feridas nas dezenas de camas que tomavam conta dos corredores de hospitais. Primorosamente dirigida, a cena é assustadora.
NOVEMBRE é um belo thriller. Aterrorizante e muito bem feito.

The terrorist attacks of November 13, 2015 – with absolute reason – traumatized France and spawned several films and documentaries.
Jimenez’s is very original. It focuses on the frenzy that gripped the French government’s anti-terrorist unit in the aftermath of the attacks and the next five days, where the hunt for terrorists was a matter of national honor.
The film never shows the attacks, a strategic choice that incredibly only heightens the tension. There are intelligence agents mobilized at night, frenetic meeting rooms, ambulances and police cars running with sirens, Paris at night on that tragic date, but never an image of the attacks themselves. I found it quite creative and out of the ordinary.
The excellent cast (Jean Dujardin, Sandrine Kimberlain, Anaïs Demoustier, Jérémie Renier, Lina Koudri and Cedric Khan) lends a touch of wounded national pride to the production, making it even more fascinating.
The film still seeks to deepen – even at that extreme hour – the theme of the limits of state action against terrorism. Of course, in that scenario there was only one objective, to capture the terrorists. Ethical concerns were only on the minds of some agents.
I’ve seen more than one film about the attacks, and I think that night in Paris is one of the most terrifying moments in recent world history. I can only try to imagine the terror that gripped everyone who lived in the City of Light.
The film captures this very well. There is, for example, a scene in which the police are interrogating injured people in the dozens of beds that fill the corridors of hospitals. Deftly directed, the scene is haunting.
NOVEMBRE is a beautiful thriller. Terrifying and very well done.
