Estreou ontem na Apple TV+, a série A ÚLTIMA COISA QUE ELE ME DISSE, estrelada por Jennifer Garner.
A ex- estrela de ALIAS volta ao papel de protagonista, vivendo Hannah Hall, uma artista plástica de sucesso em São Francisco, que mora em uma casa flutuante em Sausalito, com seu marido o engenheiro de software Owen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, de GAME OF THRONES), sócio de uma startup.
Com eles mora Bailey (Angourie Rice, de SPIDERMAN HOMECOMING), a filha dele do primeiro casamento, uma adolescente ainda traumatizada pela morte da mãe, em um acidente de veículo anos atrás e que não aceita a madrasta,
Certo dia, o mundo desaba para eles. A THE SHOP, empresa de Owen é alvo de uma operação do FBI acusando a todos de um esquema de pirâmide com o software carro chefe do IPO da empresa. O sócio de Owen é preso e ele desaparece.
Hannah e Bailey, atônitas são obrigadas a seguir vivendo, buscando o marido/pai desaparecido, aguentar as cobranças por um golpe que desconheciam, ser alvo de interrogatórios que as tratam como suspeitas e conviver com pessoas misteriosas as perseguindo pelas freeways de San Francisco.
Embora a gente já tenha visto tramas similares, acho que a modernização da história, introduzindo crimes de colarinho branco, IPOs, startups, alta tecnologia, mesclada com um antigo drama familiar sobre a dificuldade de filhos aceitarem madrastas, deu um “match” interessante.
Depois de ALIAS, Jennifer Garner colocou a carreira em segundo plano. Fez poucos filmes, muitos deles histórias familiares tipo “Hallmark” (aquele canal em que os filmes são cor de rosa) e histórias muito ruins, como o terrível PEPERMINT, em que faz uma vigilante que mata sem piscar.
Coster-Waldau é um dos astros da moda e Angourice uma estrela em ascensão.

Vou vê-los. Quero muito saber a verdadeira história do sumiço de Owen.

The former star of ALIAS returns to the leading role, playing Hannah Hall, a successful plastic artist in San Francisco, who lives in a houseboat in Sausalito, with her husband, software engineer Owen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, from GAME OF THRONES), partner of a succesful startup.
With them lives Bailey (Angourie Rice, from SPIDERMAN HOMECOMING), his daughter from his first marriage, a teenager still traumatized by her mother’s death in a car accident years ago and who does not accept her stepmother,
One day, the world collapses for them. THE SHOP, Owen’s company, is the target of an FBI operation accusing everyone of a pyramid scheme with the flagship software of the company’s IPO. Owen’s partner is arrested and he disappears.
Hannah and Bailey, astonished, are forced to go on living, looking for their missing husband/father, endure charges for a scam they were unaware of, be the target of interrogations that treat them as suspects and live with mysterious people chasing them through the freeways of San Francisco.
Although we have already seen similar plots, I think the modernization of the story, introducing white collar crimes, IPOs, startups, high technology, mixed with an old family drama about the difficulty of children accepting stepmothers, made an interesting “match”.
After ALIAS, Jennifer Garner put her career on the back. She made few movies, many of them family stories like “Hallmark” (that channel where the movies are pink) and very bad stories, like the terrible PEPERMINT, where she plays a vigilante who kills without blinking.
Coster-Waldau is one of the fashion stars and Angourice is a rising star.
I saw the two chapters already available.
Five episodes to go.
I will see them. I really want to know the true story of Owen’s disappearance.
