O App BRITBOX já está mostrando a quarta temporada da série inglesa THE BAY.
O diferencial da série é um tratamento bem profundo – em paralelo – da história policial sob investigação com os dramas familiares e pessoais dos Detetives envolvidos.
A protagonista é a D.S. Jenn Towsend (vivida pela ótima Marsha Tommason, de LOST), uma policial que tenta reconstruir sua vida ao lado do novo marido, com todas as dificuldades da convivência de seus dois filhos adolescentes com a filha dele.
Nesta quarta temporada, a trama policial envolve um incêndio em uma casa de família que mata a mulher e deixa o marido viuvo com três filhos. Qual a origem do incêndio criminoso? Quem poderia querer matar aquela mulher que trabalhava em uma casa de idosos e era querida por todos que a conheciam?
Este é o grande acerto de THE BAY. Como todas as outras ‘series policiais, ela tem uma trama policial cheia de meandros e reviravoltas sobre quem é o criminoso.
Mas faz igualmente interessante para o espectador, a trama familiar dos personagens secundários, até porque interferem diretamente no desenvolvimento da história principal.
Já tinha gostado da três primeiras temporadas.
Arriso dizer que esta quarta se candidata a ser a melhor de todas.

The differential of the series is a very deep treatment – in parallel – of the police story under investigation with the family and personal dramas of the Detectives involved.
The protagonist is D.S. Jenn Townsend (played by the great Marsha Tommason, from LOST), a police officer who tries to rebuild her life with her new husband, with all the difficulties of living with her two teenage sons and his daughter.
In this fourth season, the police plot involves a fire in a family home that kills the woman and leaves her husband a widower with three children. What is the origin of the arson? Who could want to kill that woman who worked in a nursing home and was loved by everyone who knew her?
This is THE BAY’s greatest success. Like all other ‘criminal series, it has a police plot full of twists and turns about who is the criminal.
But it makes the familiar plot of the secondary characters equally interesting for the viewer, not least because they directly interfere with the development of the main story.
I had already enjoyed the first three seasons.
I dare say that this fourth is a candidate to be the best of all.
