New York, New York: O Musical de Scorsese Virou Sucesso na Broadway

Em 1977, Martin Scorsese surpreendeu o mundo do cinema apresentando o filme musical New York, New York. Robert de Niro vivia o trumpetista Jimmy Doyle e Liza Minelli fazia a cantora Francine Evans. Os dois engatavam uma linda e sofrida história de amor, no final da Segunda Guerra Mundial, centrada em Nova Iorque, ao som de músicas e bailados.

Faz muitos anos que não revejo New York, New York, mas tenho do filme duas lembranças marcantes. Os números musicais eram deslumbrantes, enchendo a tela com coreografias belíssimas que nos encantaram. O final dos dois amantes era melancólico. Nada de Happy End.
