Apesar da unanimidade mundial a respeito de que a série da HBO, THE IDOL era das piores coisas que a Tv já exibiu, arrisquei dar uma olhada para ver se tudo de ruim que diziam era verdade.
Pois olha, acho que a série é ainda pior do que diziam.
Lily-Rose Depp (a filha de Johnny Depp e Vanessa Paradis) vive a cantora Jocelyn. Em meio a uma crise na carreira, ela encontra e se envolve com o dono de uma casa noturna de Hollywood, o inexpressivo Tedros (Weeknd).
O sujeito toma conta da carreira dela e de sua vida, revelando-se um sexista explorador como poucos.
Não cheguei até o fim da série.
O roteiro é caricato, os personagens patéticos e a direção risível.
Não sei como a HBO produziu algo tão ruim assim.
Despite the worldwide unanimity that the HBO series THE IDOL was one of the worst things that TV has ever shown, I risked a look to see if everything bad they said was true.
Well look, I think the series is even worse than they said.
Lily-Rose Depp (the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis) lives a pop singer Jocelyn. In the midst of a career crisis, she meets and becomes involved with the owner of a Hollywood nightclub, the expressionless Tedros (Weeknd).
The guy takes over her career and her life, revealing himself to be an exploitative sexist like few others.
I didn’t make it to the end of the series.
The script is caricatured, the characters pathetic and the direction laughable.
I don’t know how HBO produced something this bad.
