A PEQUENA SEREIA: Live Action da Disney é Bem Feito e Divertido

A PEQUENA SEREIA foi um dos grandes sucessos de animações da Disney nas últimas décadas. Fui ver no Disney+, o live action lançado agora em 2023.

Dirigido por Rob Marshall (indicado ao Oscar por CHICAGO), THE LITTLE MERMAID se mantém fiel à trama original e consegue ser bem divertido.

Ariel (Halle Bailey), uma jovem sereia sonha em conhecer o mundo dos humanos, inimigos de seu povo desde a morte da mãe dela. Desobedece o Pai, o Rei Tritão (Javier Barden, bem no papel) e vai salvar Eric (Jonah Hauer King) de um naufrágio.

O elenco ainda tem Melissa McCarthy como a vilã Ursula.

Os números musicais originais (Under The Sea segue uma graça de canção) tiveram o acréscimo de novas músicas do talentoso Lin Manuel Miranda (Hamilton).

Achei as duas horas e quinze minutos do filme demasiado. Podia ter sido mais enxuto.

Mas a produção impecável, alguns temas importantes (preconceito, poluição e intolerância) e a graça da história e elenco seguram muito bem a barra.

A gente vê a PEQUENA SEREIA com gosto.

THE LITTLE MERMAID was one of Disney’s greatest animation successes in recent decades. I went to see it on Disney+, the live action released now in 2023.

Directed by Rob Marshall (Oscar nominee for CHICAGO), THE LITTLE MERMAID stays faithful to the original plot and manages to be very fun.

Ariel (Halle Bailey), a young mermaid dreams of discovering the world of humans, enemies of her people since the death of her mother. She disobeys her father, King Triton (Javier Barden, well in the role) and goes to save Eric (Jonah Hauer King) from a shipwreck.

The cast also has Melissa McCarthy as the villain Ursula.

The original musical numbers (Under The Sea follows a graceful song) were joined by new songs by the talented Lin Manuel Miranda (Hamilton).

I think the film’s two hours and fifteen minutes to be too much. It could have been less.

But the impeccable production, some important themes (prejudice, pollution and intolerance) and the grace of the story and cast hold the bar very well.

We watch the LITTLE MERMAID with pleasure.
