Vi ontem na Amazon Prime Vídeo, o filme LOVE LIES BLEEDING, dirigido por Rose Glass.
Trata-se de um filme noir que poderia ter sido feito nos anos 40. Traz todos os elementos dos clássicos noir, principalmente as pessoas perdedoras que sofrem para levar sua vida adiante.
Eu gosto muito da atriz Kristen Stewart. Na minha opinião, desde que saiu da franquia TWILIGHT, Kristen vem inovando a cada trabalho, alternando filmes autorais com produções de orçamento mais elevado.
Mas respeito muito quem fez SPENCER, SEBERG CONTRA TODOS e PERSONAL SHOPPER. Trata-se de uma atriz diferenciada. Cada trabalho dela é mais elaborado que o anterior.
Aqui ela interpreta a loser Lou, a filha do gângster local, que vive cuidando de uma academia de ginástica de última categoria na beira da estrada. Ali vai aparecer a não menos perdedora Jackie (Katy O’Brian), uma fisiculturista que sonha em ganhar um concurso em Las Vegas.
Uma nota muito especial sobre o gângster vivido por Ed Harris. Lou Sr. é um personagem antológico, daqueles que a gente vê muito raramente. Bandido por natureza, administra um estande de tiro mambembe onde aparecem todos os tipos de malucos imagináveis. Uma verdadeira fauna.
Sempre gostei muito de Ed Harris. Desde o filmaço OS ELEITOS, de Phillip Kaufman, um dos meus filmes icônicos.
Hoje, bem mais velho, ele mantém aquele olhar expressivo, aqui acompanhado de uma cabeleira loira longa, perfeita para compor um gângster poeira.
Tudo é exagerado e over em O AMOR SANGRA. A diretora certamente adora Tarantino, os Irmãos Cohen e os clássicos noir da década de 40 e 50.
O filme dela por tudo isso, merece ser visto.
Yesterday on Amazon Prime Video I saw the film LOVE LIES BLEEDING, directed by Rose Glass.
This is a noir film that could have been made in the 40s. It brings all the elements of classic noir, especially the losers who suffer to move forward with their lives.
I really like the actress Kristen Stewart. In my opinion, since she left the TWILIGHT franchise, Kristen has been innovating with each work, alternating original films with higher budget productions.
But I really respect whoever made SPENCER, SEBERG and PERSONAL SHOPPER. She is a different actress. Each of her works is more elaborate than the last.
Here she lives the loser Lou, the daughter of the local gangster, who lives running a state-of-the-art gym on the side of the road. There will appear the no less loser Jackie (Katy O’Brian), a bodybuilder who dreams of winning a contest in Las Vegas.
A very special note about the gangster played by Ed Harris. Lou Sr. is an anthological character, one of those we see very rarely. A criminal by nature, he runs a crazy shooting range where all kinds of crazy people imaginable appear. A real fauna.
I always really liked Ed Harris. Since filming THE RIGHT STUFF, by Phillip Kaufman, one of my iconic films.
Today, much older, he maintains that expressive look, here accompanied by long blonde hair, perfect for composing a dusty gangster.
Everything is exaggerated and over the top in LOVE BLEEDS. The director certainly loves Tarantino, the Cohen Brothers and the noir classics of the 40s and 50s.
Her film, for all that, deserves to be seen.
