DISCLAIMER chegou ao seu final. A série da Apple TV, dirigida por Alfonso Cuarón baseada no livro de Renee Knight terminou em altíssimo estilo. Se deu direito até a um twist final, simplesmente notável.
Claro que o maios destaque da série é Cate Blanchett. A atriz australiana fez uma Catherine Ravenscroft inesquecível, um daqueles personagens que volta e meia vai voltar à nossa mente, quando quisermos lembrar da melhor arte de representar. Parece incrível, mas Blanchett, aos 55 anos está cada vez mais completa, madura e linda. É das melhores atrizes de sua geração.
A trama trouxe um cardápio completo: teve amor, traição, renúncia, vingança, sexo, segredos, suspense, auto destruição, frieza, tudo muito bem embalado.
Kevin Kline (bem idoso), Leslie Manville e Sasha Bahon Cohen (mostrando outra vez que faz papéis sérios com grande categoria) também estiveram em alto nível. A jovem Leila George – também australiana foi a surpresa do elenco.
As cenas de George com a Catherine Ravenscroft jovem foram igualmente arrebatadoras. Era a quebra de ritmo que Cuarón buscava. A Londres fria, úmida e sombria contra a Veneza iluminada, sensual e vigorosa. Dois cenários para um mesmo drama rasgado.
Este sétimo capítulo foi altamente impactante. Tudo o que o espectador esperava foi subvertido rapidamente. E com uma profundidade impressionante que elevou ainda mais a dramaticidade da história.
O último diálogo de Catherine com o marido Robert é um primor de cena magistralmente escrita e interpretada. Um dos momentos de 2024, nas telas.

DISCLAIMER has come to an end. The Apple TV series, directed by Alfonso Cuarón based on the book by Renee Knight, ended in great style. It even had a final twist, which was simply remarkable.
Of course, the biggest highlight of the series is Cate Blanchett. The Australian actress played an unforgettable Catherine Ravenscroft, one of those characters that will come back to us every now and then, when we want to remember the best art of acting. It seems incredible, but Blanchett, at 55 years old, is increasingly complete, mature and beautiful. She is one of the best actresses of her generation.
The plot brought a full menu: there was love, betrayal, renunciation, revenge, sex, secrets, suspense, self-destruction, coldness, all very well packaged.
Kevin Kline (very old), Leslie Manville and Sasha Bahon Cohen (showing once again that he plays serious roles with great class) were also at a high level. The young Leila George – also Australian – was the surprise of the cast.
George’s scenes with the young Catherine Ravenscroft were equally captivating. It was the break in rhythm that Cuarón was looking for. The cold, damp and dark London against the illuminated, sensual and vigorous Venice. Two settings for the same torn drama.
This seventh chapter was highly impactful. Everything the viewer expected was quickly subverted. And with an impressive depth that further heightened the drama of the story.
Catherine’s last dialogue with her husband Robert is a masterfully written and performed scene. One of the moments of 2024, on the screen.
