A fórmula é a mesma. O lutador de boxe emotivo e cheio de problemas pessoais e familiares é desafiado por um fanfarrão disposto a lhe arrancar tudo em uma luta de boxe. A primeira luta é um desastre. Mas – como todos os mocinhos têm uma reserva moral – o underdog derrotado se ergue (ao som de músicas redentoras e motivacionais e com a ajuda de outras pessoas de valor) e dá uma surra no vilão.
Considerando que temos cinco filmes da série ROCKY (os dois primeiros muito bons) e já são dois da franquia CREED, é a sétima vez que vemos o mesmo filme, com leves (muito leves) variações.
CREED II, de Steven Caple Jr. é a mais recente versão da história deste boxeador que abre caminho para a felicidade com seus punhos. Michael B. Jordan (também sucesso como o vilão de PANTERA NEGRA), Tessa Thompson, Philycia Rashad, Florian Munteanu e as participações muito especiais de Sylvester Stallone (também produtor), Dolph Lundgreen (retomando seu papel de Ivan Drago, de Rocky IV) e Brigitte Nielsen fazem o elenco do filme.
Embora goste muito do primeiro filme da franquia ROCKY feito por John G. Avildsen, tenho que o melhor filme deste “gênero” das últimas décadas é A LUTA PELA ESPERANÇA, de Ron Howard com um extraordinário Russell Crowe como o boxeador Jim Braddock, realmente uma obra prima na mistura de boxe, valores humanos e amoções.
CREED II é bastante competente em seguir a fórmula de sucesso, inserindo, inclusive, os problemas emocionais necessários para capturar o espectador, como o nascimento da filha do protagonista e as semelhanças das carências dos dois lutadores.
Sem atingir o nível do ROCKY original ou do citado A LUTA PELA ESPERANÇA, CREED 2 é um filme que se vê com prazer, atenção e emoção. Sem dúvida, vale a pena.
The formula is the same. The emotional and personal and family-afflicted boxing fighter is challenged by a bullying fighter ready to tear it all into a boxing match. The first fight is a disaster. But – as all the good guys have a moral reserve – the defeated underdog rises (to the sound of redemptive and motivational songs and with the help of other valuable people) and gives a beating to the villain.
Considering we already have five movies in the ROCKY series (the first two very good) and two of the CREED franchise, it is the seventh time we see the same film, with slight (very slight) variations.
CREED II, by Steven Caple Jr. is the latest version of the story of this boxer who makes way for happiness with his fists. Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Philycia Rashad, Florian Munteanu and the very special guest appearances of Sylvester Stallone (also producer), Dolph Lundgreen (retaking his role as Ivan Drago of Rocky IV) and Brigitte Nielsen are casting the film.
Although I really like the first film of the ROCKY franchise by John G. Avildsen, I think the best film of this “genre” of recent decades is Ron Howard‘s THE CINDERELLA MAN with an extraordinary Russell Crowe as boxer Jim Braddock , truly a masterpiece in the mix of boxing, human values and emotions.
CREED II is very competent to follow the formula of success, including the emotional problems necessary to capture the viewer, such as the birth of the protagonist’s daughter and the similarities of the two fighters’ needs.
Without reaching the level of the original ROCKY or quoted THE CINDERELLA MAN, CREED 2 is a film that is seen with pleasure, attention and emotion. Definitely worth it.
