O PECADO MORA AO LADO (THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH), de Billy Wilder é um filme clássico por excelência. Tem como protagonista uma atriz icônica da história do cinema, Marilyn Monroe (a Norma Jean Mortenson), uma cenza de antologia (a saia levantada pelo vento do metrô) e piadas maravilhosas sobre a tentação de um homem casado pela vizinha.
Marilyn Monroe foi uma das atrizes mais famosas do cinema. Desde a primeira vez que apareceu nua no poster central da Revista Playboy, até sua participação cantando “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” na Casa Branca para John F. Neste O PECADO MORA AO LADO ele narra a história de um homem casado cuja família sai de Nova Iorque em férias, quando ele começa a ser tentado à infidelidade pela estonteante loira do apartamento ao lado. A tese da “comichão do sétimo ano” do título original é simplesmente hilária.
Revendo o filme, 64 anos depois de ter sido feito, a gente vê uma obra cinematográfica inestimável, de feitura excelente, com um roteiro brilhante, atuações memoráveis e que merecidamente entrou para nossa memória afetiva. O filme ganhou o Globo de Ouro de Melhor Ator para Tom Ewell, um excelente ator cômico que também trabalhou no clássico A COSTELA DE ADÃO, de George Cukor.
O PECADO MORA AO LADO é ainda magistral na mescla de malícia ( a ideia de trair a esposa com aquela loira) e uma certa ingenuidade dos anos 50, onde a maior maldade do mundo seria uma escapada com a vizinha.

It has a dozen masterpieces directed by him. My favorites are SUNSET BOULEVAR, SOME LIKE IT HOT and STALAG 17.
In this he tells the story of a married man whose family leaves New York on summer vacation when he begins to be tempted to infidelity by the stunning blonde in the next apartment. The “seventh year itch” thesis of the original title is simply hilarious.
Reviewing the film, 64 years after it was made, we see a priceless film work of excellent craftsmanship, brilliant script, memorable performances, and justifiably entered our affective memory. The film won the Golden Globe for Best Actor for Tom Ewell, an excellent comic actor who also worked on George Cukor‘s classic ADAM’S RIB.
THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH is still masterful in the mix of malice (the idea of cheating on his wife with that blonde) and a certain ingenuity of the 50’s, where the greatest evil in the world would be a getaway with the neighbor.
It’s an anthological comedy!
