Em 2014, quando ainda estava iniciando sua carreira, a atriz cubana Ana de Armas (agora em alta depois de BLADE RUNNER 2049 e estrela do próximo 007, NO TIME TO DIE) fez um drama romântico intitulado POR UM PUNHADO DE BEIJOS, dirigido pelo cineasta espanhol David Menkes. Ana de Armas vive a jovem Sol, um mulher que foi contaminada com HIV pelo ex-namorado e resolve publicar um anúncio denunciando sua condição e buscando um homem positivado para se relacionar afetivamente. Quem responde o anúncio é o jovem Dani (o ator espanhol Martiño Rivas), um jornalista em busca de matérias diferenciadas.
Sem saber que Dani é jornalista, Sol se envolve de uma maneira rápida e profunda, deixando Dani em um dilema de como contar a verdade a sua amada.
O filme tem uma narrativa leve, um visual muito bonito nas locações e uma utilização muito criativa e maravilhosa da trilha sonora cheia de baladas românticas em espanhol e inglês. Uma certa leveza da narrativa – embora o tema tratado seja bem pesado – é outro achado do filme.
Outra nota distintiva é a beleza das atrizes escolhidas para o filme: além de Ana de Armas, a amiga do protagonista Marina Salas e as lindas Megan Montaner e Andrea Duro.
POR UN PUÑADO DE BESOS não logra ser um estudo (ou um alerta) sobre a AIDS na Espanha, mas com facilidade sabe ser um filme romântico e agradável de ser visto.

Ana de Armas lives the young Sol, a woman who was infected with HIV by her ex-boyfriend and decides to publish an ad denouncing her condition and looking for a positive man to relate affectionately. Young Dani (Spanish actor Martiño Rivas) responds to the ad, a journalist looking for different stories.
Without knowing that Dani is a journalist, Sol gets involved in a quick and profound way, leaving Dani in a dilemma on how to tell the truth to his beloved.
The film has a light narrative, a very beautiful visual on location and a very creative and wonderful use of the soundtrack full of romantic ballads in Spanish and English. A certain lightness of the narrative – although the subject treated is quite heavy – is another finding of the film.
Another distinguishing note is the beauty of the actresses chosen for the film: besides Ana de Armas, the friend of the protagonist Marina Salas and the beautiful Megan Montaner and Andrea Duro.
POR UN PUÑADO DE BESOS does not succeed in being a study (or a warning) about AIDS in Spain, but it easily knows how to be a romantic and pleasant film to be seen.
