Tendo trabalhado na Broadway e em inúmeros filmes de diretores top, Candice fez até hoje 63 filmes tendo apenas uma indicação ao Oscra. Em compensação, tem 12 indicações ao Globo de Ouro e 9 ao EMMY. Seu sucesso maior na televisão foi a série MURPHY BROWN (papel que lhe deu 2 Golden Globes e 5 Emmy Awards). Também fez muito sucesso na TV em BOSTON LEGAL.
Durante 15 anos (até a morte prematura dele em 1995) foi casada com o excepcional cineasta francês Louis Malle, com quem tem 1 filho.

Pakula e RICAS E FAMOSAS, de George Cukor, no qual contracenou com a musa eterna Jacqueline Bisset.
Esta relação de filmes mostra que o talento de Candice Bergen a deixa à vontade em papeis cômicos ou dramáticos. E, de quebra, ainda canta muito bem, como se viu várias vezes na série MURPHY BROWN.
É uma atriz completa.
