O Sundance Channel está exibindo a novíssima série da Nova Zelândia THE BAD SEED (A SEMENTE RUIM), um thriller sobre dois irmãos da classe média alta de Auckland que tiveram uma infância marcada por um pai abusivo, o que no presente os envolve em assassinatos de mulheres, investigados por uma policial obcecada pela verdade.
Em cinco capítulos, os dois irmãos vão passar por todo tipo de dificuldades. O mais velho e talentoso é um médico obstetra, bem casado, com duas filhas e uma clínica de sucesso. Ele tem o vício de levar o envolvimento afetivo com clientes além dos limites da ética.
O mais novo, com evidentes problemas emocionais, se dedica a cuidas das sobrinhas, fazer pequenos serviços na casa da família e namorar mulheres complicadas.
Para complicar o caso, há um político candidato a Primeiro Ministro cuja esposa é viciada em cocaína e mãe biológica de uma das meninas do médico.
O elenco local tem Matt Minto (como o Doutor Simon), Dean O’Gorman, Jodie Hillock, Chelsea Preston Clayford, Xavier Horan e Madeleine Sami.
THE BAD SEED é uma produção caprichada. Uma direção competente segura a atenção do espectador sem dificuldade até o final da trama.
Trata-se de entretenimento de ótimo nível.
The Sundance Channel is showing the brand new series from New Zealand THE BAD SEED, a thriller about two upper middle class brothers from Auckland who had a childhood marked by an abusive father, which at present involves them in murders of women, investigated by a truth-obsessed police officer.
In five chapters, the two brothers will experience all kinds of difficulties. The oldest and most talented is an obstetrician, happily married, with two daughters and a successful clinic. He has the addiction to take affective involvement with clients beyond the limits of ethics.
The youngest, with evident emotional problems, dedicates himself to taking care of his nieces, doing small jobs in the family home and dating complicated women.
To complicate the case, there is a political candidate for Prime Minister whose wife is addicted to cocaine and the biological mother of one of the doctor’s girls.
The local cast has Matt Minto (as Doctor Simon), Dean O’Gorman, Jodie Hillock, Chelsea Preston Clayford, Xavier Horan and Madeleine Sami.
THE BAD SEED is a very good production. A competent direction holds the viewer’s attention without difficulty until the end of the plot.
These are top-notch entertainment.
