DEAN STOCKWELL: Sabe Aquele Ator que Pouca Gente Sabe o Nome Mas Sempre Trabalha Muito Bem?

O ator californiano Dean Stockwell morreu nesta semana, aos 85 anos.

Em sua carreira de incríveis 204 filmes e séries, Dean teve uma indicação Ao Oscar (DE CASO COM A MÁFIA), ganhou 2 Globos de Ouro (QUANTUM LEAP e GENTLEMAN’S AGREEMENT) e dois prêmios em Cannes.

Na minha opinião, seu melhor trabalho é o personagem Ben, em VELUDO AZUL, a (uma das na realidade) obra prima de David Lynch. Ben era o parceiro criminal do sinistro Frank Booth (Dennis Hooper antológico) que mantinha cativo o filho de Dorothy Vallens (Isabella Rosselini, espetacular). Em um filme perfeito, Stockwell fez um trabalho inesquecível.

Em sua longeva carreira Dean Stockwell trabalhou em quase todas as séries clássicas de TV, aparecendo em DR. KILDARE, MANNIX, BONANZA, THE F.B.I., MISSÃO IMPOSSÍVEL, COLUMBO, JOE FORRESTER, CANNON, MC CLOUD e CASAL 20

Mas a lista de trabalhos dele tem títulos como PARIS, TEXAS, o primeiro DUNA, JARDINS DE PEDRA, TUCKER, O JOGADOR, VIVER E MORRER EM L.A. e THE RAINMAKER. Não foi à toa que ele trabalhou com Wim Wenders, David Lynch, Francis Coppola e Robert Altman.

Dean Stockwell era um ator soberbo. Coadjuvante com muita qualidade. Deixava os filmes em que atuava bem melhores.

In his career of incredible 204 movies and series, Dean has had an Oscar nomination (MARRIED TO THE MOB), won 2 Golden Globes (QUANTUM LEAP and GENTLEMAN’S AGREEMENT) and two Cannes Awards.

In my opinion, his best work is the character Ben, in BLUE VELVET, the (actually one of) David Lynch‘s masterpiece. Ben was the criminal partner of the sinister Frank Booth (Dennis Hooper anthology) who held captive Dorothy Vallens’ son (Isabella Rosselini, spectacular). In a perfect movie, Stockwell did an unforgettable job.

In his long career Dean Stockwell has worked on almost every classic TV series, appearing in DR. KILDARE, MANNIX, BONANZA, THE F.B.I., MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, COLUMBO, JOE FORRESTER, CANNON, MC CLOUD and HART TO HART.

But his list of works has titles like PARIS, TEXAS, the first DUNE, GARDENS OF STONE, TUCKER, THE PLAYER and THE RAINMAKER. No wonder he worked with Wim Wenders, David Lynch, Francis Coppola and Robert Altman.
