A ACORN TV está mostrando os primeiros capítulos da novíssima HARRY WILD, uma série inglesa que focaliza a história de uma professora de literatura aposentada que resolve se dedicar a resolver os crimes da pequena comunidade onde mora, até para ajudar o filho policial.
A sempre ótima Jane Seymour (LIVE AND LET DIE e EM ALGUM LUGAR DO PASSADO) faz a protagonista Harry Wild, mulher inteligente e independente cujo conhecimento de literatura proporciona algumas das melhores cenas destes primeiros capítulos. Volta e meia, Harry diz para o filho que em tal ou qual livro policial, houve um crime que pode indicar quem é o culpado no caso atual.
Outro elemento divertidíssimo é quando a veterana professora corrige as falas do filho, dos parceiros e até dos suspeitos, exigindo um inglês perfeito de todos. Uma bela (e engraçada) sacda dos roteiros.
As duas primeiras tramas – nas quais Harry conta com o filho (Kevin Ryan) e um parceiro pouco ortodoxo (Rohan Nedd) – foram ótimas, divertidas, movimentadas.
Os ingleses sabem como poucos contar histórias policiais. Há várias influências clássicas nas histórias de HARRY WILD. A mais óbvia são os casos de Miss Marple, de Agatha Christie.
Mas uma leitura mais moderna (Harry fala em drogas e vibradores) sem qualquer constrangimento dão à série uma surpreendente (e bem vida) modernidade.
Vou seguir esta interessante detetive amadora Harry Wild.
ACORN TV is showing the first chapters of the brand new HARRY WILD, an English series that focuses on the story of a retired literature teacher who decides to dedicate herself to solving the crimes of the small community where she lives, even to help her police officer son.
The always great Jane Seymour (LIVE AND LET DIE and SOMEWHERE IN TIME) plays the protagonist Harry Wild, an intelligent and independent woman whose knowledge of literature provides some of the best scenes of these first chapters. Every now and then, Harry tells his son that in this or that detective book, there was a crime that could indicate who the culprit is in the current case.
Another fun element is when the veteran teacher corrects the speech of her son, partners and even suspects, demanding perfect English from everyone. A nice (and funny) catch of the screenplay.
The first two plots – in which Harry has his son (Kevin Ryan) and an unorthodox partner (Rohan Nedd) – were great, fun, busy.
The English know how to tell detective stories like few others. There are several classic influences in the HARRY WILD stories. The most obvious are the cases of Miss Marple, by Agatha Christie.
But a more modern reading (Harry talks about drugs and vibrators) without any embarrassment gives the series a surprising (and well-lived) modernity.
I will follow this interesting amateur detective Harry Wild.
