JOHN GIELGUD: Outro Ator Inglês Soberbo

Hoje seria aniversário do ator londrino John Gielgud. Ele morreu em 2000, aos 96 anos.

Curiosamente, depois de uma carreira onde pontificaram os papéis dramáticos (inclusive shakspeareanos), Gielgud foi ganhar um Oscar por um papel cômico, o do inesquecível Hobson, mordomo em ARTHUR.

Gielgud fez 137 papéis no cinema.

Esteve em THE LION OF THE DESERT, GANDHI, THE ELEPHANT MAN, CARRUAGENS DE FOGO, QB VII e no primeiro MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS.

Muitas vezes me peguei no cinema meio fora da história, apenas admirando o talento único de Sir John Gielgud na arte de criar um personagem.

Era um ator magnífico.

Interestingly, after a career in which dramatic roles (including Shakespearean ones) pontificated, Gielgud went on to win an Oscar for a comedic role, that of the unforgettable Hobson, the butler in ARTHUR.

Gielgud played 137 film roles.

He was in THE LION OF THE DESERT, GANDHI, THE ELEPHANT MAN, CHARIOTS OF FIRE, QB VII and the first MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS.

Often I found myself in the cinema a little out of the story, just admiring Sir John Gielgud‘s unique talent in the art of creating a character.

He was a magnificent actor.
