O Amazon Prime Video está mostrando o filme AGULHA NO PALHEIRO TEMPORAL, produção americana dirigida por John Ridley. A trama nos leva a um futuro próximo, onde as viagens no tempo são um produto (caro) à disposição das pessoas. A regra é não tentar alterar o passado, porque isto causa alterações no futuro. Como nem todos obedecem, volta e meia há um tipo de tempestade temporal que faz reajustes nas vidas das pessoas.
Neste contexto, quatro amigos de juventude formaram dois casais. Nick (Leslie Odom Jr.) e Janine Mikkelsen (Cynthia Erivo, ótima como sempre) são uma casal perfeito e apaixonado. Ocorre que ela fora esposa do milionário Tommy Hambleton (Orlando Bloom) o noivo da bela Alex Leslie (Freida Pinto). Há ainda a irmã de Nick, Zoe (Jadyn Wong), namorada da alpinista brasileira Sibila (Laysla de Oliveira), o que explica umas frases em português no meio dos diálogos.
O milionário resolve alterar o passado e retomar seu casamento com Janine. A continuidade das vidas deles começa a se perder.
O filme é muito bem produzido (cenas lindas de Vancouver, Canadá) e interpretado. São muitos bons atores criando com afinco seus personagens.
Achei que a história tem um certo tom conservador. Podia ter ousado mais. A própria premissa de ficção científica ficou em segundo plano para o romance entre Nick e Janine.
De qualquer sorte, como um antigo fã da série dos anos 60, O TÚNEL DO TEMPO, achei estas viagens no tempo de NEEDLE IN A TIMESTACK muito chiques e glamurosas.
É um filme competente e agradável de se ver. Sem qualquer esforço.
Amazon Prime Video is showing the movie NEEDLE IN THE TIMESTACK, an American production directed by John Ridley. The plot takes us to a near future, where time travel is an (expensive) product available to people. The rule is don’t try to change the past, because this causes changes in the future. As not everyone obeys, every now and then there is a kind of temporal storm that makes adjustments in people’s lives.
In this context, four youthful friends formed two couples. Nick (Leslie Odom Jr.) and Janine (Cynthia Erivo, great as ever) Mikkelsen are a perfect and passionate couple. It so happens that she was the wife of the millionaire Tommy Hambleton (Orlando Bloom), the fiancé of the beautiful Alex Leslie (Freida Pinto). There is also Nick’s sister, Zoe (Jadyn Wong), girlfriend of Brazilian climber Sibila (Laysla de Oliveira), which explains some sentences in Portuguese in the middle of the dialogues.
The millionaire decides to change the past and resume his marriage to Janine. The continuity of their lives begins to be lost.
The film is very well produced (beautiful scenes from Vancouver, Canada) and acted. There are many good actors creating their characters diligently.
I thought the story had a certain conservative tone. I could have dared more. The sci-fi premise itself took a backseat to the romance between Nick and Janine.
Anyway, as a longtime fan of the 60s series THE TIME TUNNEL, I found these time travels from NEEDLE IN A TIMESTACK to be very chic and glamorous .
It’s a competent and enjoyable film to watch. Without any effort
