Um veterana policial e seu parceiro são chamados a um subúrbio de Londres para investigar as mortes de uma jovem e um policial, após a queda de uma torre. Aparentemente, a jovem estava ameaçando se jogar com um menino quando foi abordada por outros dois policiais, uma que está em estado de choque e não conta o que houve e o outro que caiu junto com a morta.
Pelo primeiro episódio, a trama é construída de forma muito engenhosa. Os dois detetives encarregados, como nós, não sabem qualquer detalhe do que ocorreu naquela cobertura do prédio nos instantes anteriores à queda fatal. Vão descobrindo detalhe a detalhe, à medida em que suas investigações avançam.
As questões de política interna da corporação pontificam como obstáculos à livre investigação do caso pelos dois protagonistas.
Gemma Whelan, Jimmy Akingbola, Tahirah Sharif, Emmett J. Scanlan e Nick Holder estrelam a minsssérie.
THE TOWER me pareceu ter uma narrativa bem seca, sem concessões.

A veteran police officer and her partner are called to a London suburb to investigate the deaths of a young woman and a policeman after a tower falls. Apparently, the young woman was threatening to play with a boy when she was approached by two other police officers, one who is in shock and doesn’t tell what happened and the other who fell along with the dead woman.
For the first episode, the plot is constructed very ingeniously. The two detectives in charge, like us, do not know any details of what happened on that roof of the building in the moments before the fatal fall. They will discover detail by detail as their investigations progress.
The corporation’s internal policy issues stand as obstacles to the free investigation of the case by the two protagonists.
Gemma Whelan, Jimmy Akingbola, Tahirah Sharif, Emmett J. Scanlan and Nick Holder star in the miniseries.
THE TOWER seemed to me to have a very dry narrative, with no compromises.
I’ll see where it goes.
