Como grande fã da atriz americana Rooney Mara, desde que eu li que ela iria viver a personagem de MARIA MADALENA (MARY MAGDALEN), no filme que o cineasta Garth Davis (LION) iria rodar, fiquei ansioso para ver.
Custei muito a encontrar o filme. Ontem, finalmente, na Apple TV+ e em um app de filmes europeus encontrei MARY MAGDALEN.
É um filme belíssimo.
Imaginar o que passou uma mulher de ideias próprias e independentes naquela época é devastador.
Já no primeiro marido que a família lhe indica e ela recusa, vira vítima de um exorcismo para lhe tirar o demônio do corpo.
Seguir Jesus de Nazaré (Joaquin Phoenix, perfeito como sempre), num grupo de homens foi outra decisão nada popular.
O elenco do filme tem Chiwetel Ejiofor (Pedro), Tahar Rahim (Judas), Tchéky Karyo e Denis Menochet.
O filme informa que Maria Madalena, depois de todas as perseguições que sofreu, é considerada Santa pelas Igrejas Católica, Ortodoxa, Anglicana e Luterana. E que, em 2016, o Papa Francisco a elevou a “Apóstola dos Apóstolos”.
O filme faz justiça a ela.
