Não sou exatamente um fã do ator e diretor Adam Sandler. Acho os filmes dele muito irregulares. Gosto de UNCUT GEMS e de PUNCH DRUNK LOVE, mas JACK AND JILL e MURDER MYSTERY são filmes péssimos.
Hoje vi ARREMESSANDO ALTO (HUSTLE), do diretor Jeremiah Zagar. É uma agradável surpresa.
Adam Sandler estrela o filme como o scout (olheiro) do time de basquete PHILADELPHIA 76ERS, Stanley Sugerman. Há muitos anos trabalhando no time, o sonho dele é ser promovido à equipe de técnicos do time. Mas por enquanto, sua vida é percorrer o mundo atrás de jovens talentos que possam se tornar um futuro craque do 76ers.
Neste trabalho, ele encontra um jovem operário espanhol que joga basquete na rua, em Madri. Bo Cruz (Juancho Hernangomez) é um jovem com muito talento para o basquete mas que ainda não foi visto por quem possa lhe dar uma chance na vida. Enquanto isso, trabalha em obras de Madrid, sustentando a mãe e a filha.
Os dois irão formar uma dupla afinada. Stanley vê em Bo sua chance de fazer um golaço junto ao time e ganhar a sonhada promoção. Bo vê em Stanley a pessoa que pode lhe abrir as portas da fortuna.
É muito humano o relacionamento paternal de Sugerman para Cruz. Bonito mesmo de se ver.
Não que a trajetória dos dois não enfrente dificuldades e obstáculos.
Para quem é fã de basquete, o filme tem um atrativo extra. além da história, há inúmeras participações de astros da NBA, o que valoriza muito o filme. Além de dar um realismo sensacional às cenas de jogos de basquete (maravilhosamente filmadas).
O elenco ainda tem um idoso Robert Duvall, Queen Latifah, Ben Foster e Heidi Gardner.
Gostei muito de HUSTLE. Vale muito a pena ver. Mesmo que o basquete não esteja entre suas paixões.

Today I saw HUSTLE, by director Jeremiah Zagar. It’s a pleasant surprise.
Adam Sandler stars in the film as PHILADELPHIA 76ERS basketball scout Stanley Sugerman. Having worked for the team for many years, his dream is to be promoted to the team’s coaching staff. But for now, his life is to roam the world looking for young talent who can become a future star of the 76ers.
In this work, he meets a young Spanish worker who plays basketball on the street in Madrid.
