O grande sucesso do cinema brasileiro de 2022, o filme MEDIDA PROVISÓRIA, dirigido pelo ator e cineasta Lázaro Ramos chegou ao streaming, estando disponível no NOW. Trata-se de uma brilhante fábula sobre o Brasil enfocando temas profundamente dolorosos da realidade nacional.
MEDIDA PROVISÓRIA é baseado na peça teatral NAMÍBIA, NÃO!, de Aldri Anunciação, integrante do elenco do filme. O roteiro é de Lázaro Ramos, Aldri Anunciação e Lusa Silvestre.
O alvo primário do filme é, obviamente o racismo estrutural. Um governo autoritário brasileiro cria uma regra pela qual as pessoas negras vão ter direito a uma indenização pelas muitas décadas de sofrimentos ligados à escravatura, ao preconceito racial e à discriminação sofrida na carne.
Na hora da primeira beneficiária receber sua indenização, diante da imprensa, o Governo muda de idéia e cancela o direito à indenização. Imediatamente, amparado em forte campanha de mídia e usando para tanto seus políticos aliados, o Governo edita uma medida provisória pela qual as pessoas negras terão o “direito” de ir embora para a África, de graça.
A farsa é imediatamente desmascarada e se inicia um movimento de rebelião da população negra (e de todas as pessoas razoavelmente lúcidas) de se contrapor à medida racista do governo.
O filme investe em outras formas de autoritarismo do Governo, como a exclusão, o preconceito, a facilidade do uso de violência, o desrespeito à liberdade, homofobia, as ações populistas e cínicas dos políticos e toda forma de violência moral e física.
O elenco de MEDIDA PROVISÓRIA tem excelentes atores e atrizes: Seu Jorge, Alfred Enoch (de HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER), Taís Araújo, Renata Sorrah, Adriana Esteves, Mariana Xavier, Flavio Bauraqui, Pablo Sanábio e Emicida, entre outros.
Para mim, duas menções são obrigatórias. MEDIDA PROVISÓRIA recorre a uma estratégia exitosa muito presente no cinema brasileiro, qual seja o uso de fábulas e metáforas para examinar com profundidade as mazelas nacionais. DEUS E O DIABO NA TERRA DO SOL, O AUTO DA COMPADECIDA e mais recentemente BACURAU se utilizaram do mesmo tipo de narrativa.
A segunda menção é com relação às comédias italianas clássicas, onde as situações cômicas são criadas para o espectador rir, ao mesmo tempo que reconhece a dor e a tristeza do que é mostrado na tela. O ponto de partida de MEDIDA PROVISÓRIA é tão “non sense” e engraçado quanto triste e revoltante.
Acho que MEDIDA PROVISÓRIA se inscreve como um dos filmes mais poderosos contra o racismo. Merece muito toa repercussão positiva que teve. É muito competente, bem realizado e contundente em seus propósitos.
Merece muito ser visto e discutido.
The great success of Brazilian cinema of 2022, the film EXECUTIVE ORDER, directed by actor and filmmaker Lázaro Ramos, has arrived on streaming, being available on NOW. It is a brilliant fable about Brazil focusing on deeply painful issues of the national reality.
EXECUTIVE ORDER is based on the play NAMIBIA, NO!, by Aldri Anunciação, a member of the film’s cast. The script is written by Lázaro Ramos, Aldri Anunciação and Lusa Silvestre.
The film’s primary target is, of course, structural racism. An authoritarian Brazilian government creates a rule by which black people will be entitled to compensation for the many decades of suffering linked to slavery, racial prejudice and discrimination suffered in the flesh.
When the first beneficiary is about to receive her compensation, in front of the press, the Government changes its mind and cancels the right to compensation. Immediately, supported by a strong media campaign and using its political allies, the Government issues a decree whereby black people will have the “right” to leave for Africa, free of charge.
The farce is immediately unmasked and a movement of rebellion by the black population (and all reasonably lucid people) begins to oppose the government’s racist rule.
The film invests against other forms of government authoritarianism, such as exclusion, prejudice, the ease of using violence, disrespect for freedom, homophobie, the populist and cynical actions of politicians and all forms of moral and physical violence.
The cast of EXECUTIVE ORDER has excellent actors and actresses: Seu Jorge, Alfred Enoch (from HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER), Taís Araújo, Renata Sorrah, Adriana Esteves, Mariana Xavier, Flavio Bauraqui, Pablo Sanábio and Emicida, among others.
For me, two mentions are mandatory. EXECUTIVE ORDER uses a successful strategy very present in Brazilian cinema, namely the use of fables and metaphors to examine in depth the national ills. BLACK GOD, WHITE DEVIL, A DOG’S WILL and more recently BACURAU used the same type of narrative.
The second mention is in relation to classic Italian comedies, where the comic situations are created for the viewer to laugh, while recognizing the pain and sadness of what is shown on screen. The starting point of EXECUTIVE ORDER is as “nonsense” and funny as it is sad and revolting.
I think EXECUTIVE ORDER is one of the most powerful films against racism. It deserves so much the positive impact it had. It is very competent, well accomplished and forceful in his purposes.
It deserves to be seen and discussed.
