O STAR+ está exibindo a comédia dramática espanhola SENTIMENTAL (THE PEOPLE UPSTAIRS), um ótimo filme do cineasta catalão Cesc Gay (TRUMAN).
A trama mostra um casal conservador cujo casamento está naquela fase de marasmo absoluto cuja mulher resolve receber para um happy hour o casal liberal do andar de cima, contra a vontade do marido.
O Professor de Música Júlio (Javier Cámara, maravilhoso como sempre) e a mulher Ana (Griselda Siciliani) têm uma rotina de casamento padrão no qual os anos de convivência tiraram qualquer sensualidade do relacionamento.
No andar de cima moram o bombeiro Salva (Alberto San Juan) e a esposa psicóloga Laura (Belén Cuesta), um casal liberal, adepto de noitadas, orgias, swing e menáges a trois.
Ana resolve convidar os ousados vizinhos para um “tiradito”, para desespero do cada vez mais isolado Júlio.
O que vai acontecer com os quatro adultos nesta noitada é um surpresa muito bem pensada pelo roteiro do próprio Cesc Gay, um cineasta provocador e contundente.
O filme tem muitos diálogos. Mas este é um de seus pontos fortes. A crueza das falas do casal liberal contrasta com o cinismo de Júlio (muitas piadas sobre o fato de Salva ser bombeiro) e a insatisfação de Ana, a cada momento.
SENTIMENTAL é um filme adulto, dramático e com momentos bem engraçados que ajudam a quebrar o climão entre os casais.
Trata-se de um filme a ser visto e refletido.
STAR+ is showing the Spanish comedy drama THE PEOPLE UPSTAIRS, a great film by Catalan filmmaker Cesc Gay (TRUMAN).
The plot shows a conservative couple whose marriage is in that phase of absolute monotony, whose wife decides to welcome the liberal couple upstairs for a happy hour, against her husband’s wishes.
Music teacher Júlio (Javier Cámara, wonderful as always) and his wife Ana (Griselda Siciliani) have a standard marriage routine in which years of living together have taken away any sensuality from their relationship.
Upstairs live firefighter Salva (Alberto San Juan) and his psychologist wife Laura (Belén Cuesta), a liberal couple, adept at late nights, orgies, swing and threesomes.
Ana decides to invite the daring neighbors to an appetizer, to the despair of the increasingly isolated Júlio.
What will happen to the four adults on this night is a surprise very well thought out by the script of Cesc Gay himself, a provocative and blunt filmmaker.
The film has a lot of dialogue. But this is one of its strengths. The rawness of the liberal couple’s speeches contrasts with Júlio’s cynicism (many jokes about the fact that Salva is a firefighter) and Ana’s dissatisfaction at every moment.
SENTIMENTAL is an adult film, dramatic and with very funny moments that help to break the mood between couples.
It is a film to be seen and reflected upon.
