O filme argentino-espanhol CONCORRÊNCIA OFICIAL, dirigido pelos argentinos mariano Cohn e Gastón Duprat é uma muito bem sucedida sátira ao mundo do cinema, festivais, iniciativas beneficentes e outras modernidades. Estréia no Brasil em 1o. de junho.
Humberto Suarez (Jose Luis Gómez), um milionário espanhol em crise de consciência resolve produzir um grande filme de repercussão internacional baseado em um livro ganhador do Prêmio Nobel, sobre a rivalidade de dois irmãos. Contrata uma cineasta da moda, bem maluquete e constantemente premiada no circuito de festivais. Ela é Lola Cuevas (Penélope Cruz sempre maravilhosa) que, para desespero do milionário diz que seu filme terá muito pouco do livro pelo qual ele pagou uma fortuna.
Os protagonistas do filme serão dois atores de escolas bem diferentes. Um é um professor de arte dramática com sólida carreira como ator, habituée de filmes autorais e herméticos que lhe renderam o respeito da crítica. Iván Torres é outra criação memorável de Oscar Martinez, notável ator argentino de O CIDADÃO ILUSTRE.
Seu partner no filme é o galã internacional de blockbusters Felix Rivero (Antonio Banderas, divertido se auto satirizando), um self made actor, que despreza métodos de aprendizado e acredita em talento inato. Anda com mulheres e carros caríssimos e vive nos noticiários do Jet Set internacional.
Os conflitos dos dois, sob a batuta da cineasta é divertidíssimo. Há várias cenas maravilhosas como a cena de paixão da cineasta com a filha do produtor (Irene Escolar como Diana Suarez) ou a do exercício com os prêmios ganhos pelos dois atores. Ou ainda a da pedra gigante utilizada para criar uma tensão entre os dois irmãos no ensaio de uma cena. Ou a da entrevista pós pré-lançamento do filme em um festival.
Reunir três talentos como Penélope Cruz, Oscar Martinez e Antonio Banderas é raro em um filme. Contando com um ótimo roteiro de autoria dos dois diretores e de André Duprat e com uma direção arejada e dinâmica, o filme atinge com sobras seus objetivos.
Gostei muito de OFFICIAL COMPETITION. É um filme de grande competência que vai deliciar os espectadores, especialmente os admiradores de cinema.

He hires a wacky, fashion-forward filmmaker who is constantly awarded on the festival circuit. She is Lola Cuevas (Penelope Cruz always wonderful) who, to the dismay of the millionaire, says that her movie will have very little of the book he paid a fortune for.
The protagonists of the film will be two actors from very different schools. One is a professor of dramatic art with a solid career as an actor, a habituée of authorial and hermetic films that earned him the respect of the critics. Iván Torres is another memorable creation of Oscar Martinez, notable Argentine actor in THE DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN.
His partner in the film is international blockbuster heartthrob Felix Rivero (Antonio Banderas, amusingly self-satirizing), a self-made actor who despises learning methods and believes in innate talent. He hangs around with women and expensive cars and lives on the news on the international Jet Set.
The conflicts between the two, under the director’s baton, are a lot of fun. There are several wonderful scenes like the filmmaker’s passion scene with the producer’s daughter (Irene Escolar as Diana Suarez) or the exercise with the awards won by the two actors. Or even that of the giant stone used to create tension between the two brothers in the rehearsal of a scene. Or the post-release interview of the film at a festival.
Bringing together three talents like Penélope Cruz, Oscar Martinez and Antonio Banderas is rare in a movie. Counting on a great script by the two directors and André Duprat and with an airy and dynamic direction, the film reaches its goals easily.
I really enjoyed OFFICIAL COMPETITION. It is a film of great competence that will delight viewers, especially movie fans.
