YUL BRYNNER: O “Careca” Mais Famoso de Hollywood

O faraó Ramsés que enfrenta Moisés (Charlton Heston), em OS DEZ MANDAMENTOS (THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, 1956), de Cecil B. deMille, ou o infalível pistoleiro Chris Larabee Adams no western SETE HOMENS E UM DESTINO (THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, 1960), de John Sturges, ou o Rei Mongut, em O REI E EU(THE KING AND I, 1956), de Walter Lang são apenas três exemplos do trabalho diferenciado de Yul Brynner.

Ainda esteve em TARAS BULBA, OS IRMÃOS KARAMAZOV e SALOMÃO E A RAINHA DE SABÁ (onde entrou no lugar do falecido Tyrone Power.

Lembro de uma noite em que fui com meu Pai, no Cine Bristol, em um ciclo de filmes de ficção científica ver o filme WESTWORLD, de Michael Crichton, sobre um parque temático no futuro que proporcionava aos hóspedes a experiência de viver no faroeste, com robôs programados para interagir amistosamente. Nada foi mais marcante no filme que o pistoleiro todo vestido de preto, com fisionomia impenetrável e que liderava uma revolta dos robôs. Yul Brynner roubou o filme e o meu sono naquela noite de 1973.

Actor Yul Brynner was born in Vladivostok, Russia on July 11, 1920. He died in 1985, aged 65.

He was still in TARAS BULBA, THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV and SOLOMON AND SHEBA (where he took the place of the late Tyrone Power).

I remember one night when I went with my Father, at Cine Bristol, in a cycle of science fiction films, to see the film WESTWORLD, by Michael Crichton, about a theme park in the future that provided guests with the experience of living in the Wild West, with robots programmed to interact amicably. Nothing was more striking in the film than the gunslinger dressed all in black, with an impenetrable face and leading a robot uprising. Yul Brynner stole the movie and my sleep that night in 1973.
