Entra em cartaz no dia 18 de novembro o filme SHE SAID, a adaptação cinematográfica do livro homônimo, escrito pelas jornalistas do THE NEW YORK TIMES, Jodie Kantor e Megan Twohey.
A reportagem é considerada o nascedouro do movimento #MeToo.
Pelo trailer, SHE SAID vai neste caminho.
The movie SHE SAID, the film adaptation of the book of the same name, written by journalists from THE NEW YORK TIMES, Jodie Kantor and Megan Twohey, opens on November 18th. The film was directed by German filmmaker Maria Schrader, who won an EMMY for NETFLIX’s UNORTHODOX.
The book narrates the investigative report – awarded with the Pulitzer Prize – of the two journalists who exposed years of sexual abuse in Hollywood, starting from the denunciations against the mega producer Harry Weinstein. The report is considered the birthplace of the #MeToo movement.
On screen, the reporters will be played by the great Carey Mulligan (2 Oscar nominations) and Zoe Kazan (the granddaughter of the genius Elia Kazan). With them in the cast are the exceptional Patricia Clarkson, Tom Pelphrey, Samantha Morton, Andre Braugher, Elle Graham, Adam Shapiro and Sean Cullen.
Producer Weinstein – at the time one of the most influential in Hollywood, at the helm of his MIRAMAX – suffered a series of complaints from dozens of women in the film industry, and is now sentenced to 23 years in prison.
The trailer, released this July 14, is very reminiscent of two films: ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN, by Alan J. Pakula and SPOTLIGHT, by Tom McCarthy, illustrious examples of famous journalism investigative cases, not by chance winners of 6 Oscars.
