A HBO MAX está exibindo a série argentina EL LOBISTA, feita e lançada em 2018.
Trata-se de uma superprodução da Cablevision, El Trece e Pol-Ka Producciones, com recursos técnicos e artísticos top de linha, ainda mais para uma série latina. Tem 10 capítulos.
A história acompanha Matías Franco (o ator portenho Rodrigo de la Serna, de DIÁRIOS DE MOTOCICLETA, em desempenho ótimo) em lobista com anos de trabalho e acesso a todos os grupos de autoridades e empresários da sociedade argentina. O roteiro dá ao personagem Matías a oportunidade de luzir, indo de um professor de negócios (a aula que ele dá a um guarda na cadeia sobre como fazer dinheiro com uma sorveteria de bairro é primorosa) a quase um James Bond argentino.
Entre os clientes de Matías está um igreja evangélica com muito dinheiro, atividades muito pouco republicanas e um líder poderosos e carismático cuja religiosidade lhe dá, inclusive, alucinações onde dialoga com personagens inexistentes. O Pastor Ospina é interpretado pelo ator Dario Grandinetti (de FALE COM ELA e CONTOS SELVAGENS), em um dos papéis de sua vida. Ospina é impositivo, controlador e manipulador, sem elevar a voz e sempre com mensagens espiritualizadas que justificam seus atos.
Há um jovem e ambicioso Promotor que implica com o trabalho e o sucesso de Matías, sempre buscando vigiá-lo e encontrar algo ilícito nos atos do lobista. Ele é Manuel Quinteros (Alberto Ajaka), em outro trabalho muito interessante.
Há ainda a jovem fotógrafa Lourdes Inzillo (Julieta Nair Calvo), uma apaixonada e corajosa jornalista em busca de uma trajetória de acordo com seus princípios, cujo envolvimento com Matías vai trazer aos dois apaixonados sérios questionamentos sobre ética e trabalho.
Outro personagem ótimo é a também lobista Natália Ocampo (Letícia Brédice), ex-esposa de Matías e sua rival nos negócios, porque vive à sombra dele, marcando seus passos e, sempre que possível lhe ultrapassando na obtenção do sucesso.
E finalmente, há Jimena (Malena Villa), a fiel escudeira de Matías, uma jovem prodigiosa na internet, capaz de encontrar qualquer informação sobre qualquer pessoa.
EL LOBISTA vai fundo no olhar sobre as relações do lobista com seus interlocutores, sejam políticos, governantes, juízes, investidores, religiosos e até mesmo funcionários menos graduados com quem Matías consegue acesso a muitas coisas trocando por ingressos de futebol ou simplesmente um momento de interesse em seus desabafos.
Há momentos da trama onde os exageros depõem contra o resultado final. Mas são muito poucos. Em sua maior parte, EL LOBISTA é um produto de primeira linha, inteligente, crítico, contundente e muito interessante de ser visto.
Recomendo vivamente EL LOBISTA. É um série com imensos méritos.

The story follows Matías Franco (argentine actor Rodrigo de la Serna, from THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES, in great performance) as a lobbyist with years of work and access to all groups of authorities and entrepreneurs in Argentine society. The script gives the character Matías the opportunity to shine, going from a business professor (the class he gives a prison guard on how to make money from a neighborhood ice cream shop is exquisite) to almost an Argentine James Bond.
Among Matías’ clients is an evangelical church with a lot of money, very little republican activities and a powerful and charismatic leader whose religiosity even gives him hallucinations where he dialogues with non-existent characters. Pastor Ospina is played by actor Dario Grandinetti (from TALK TO HER and WILD TALES), in one of his life roles. Ospina is imposing, controlling and manipulative, without raising his voice and always with spiritual messages that justify his actions.
There is a young and ambitious prosecutor who implicates Matías’ work and success, always trying to keep an eye on him and find something illicit in the lobbyist’s actions. He is Manuel Quinteros (Alberto Ajaka), in another very interesting job.
There is also the young photographer Lourdes Inzillo (Julieta Nair Calvo), a passionate and courageous journalist in search of a path according to her principles, whose involvement with Matías will bring the two lovers serious questions about ethics and work.
Another great character is also lobbyist Natália Ocampo (Letícia Brédice), Matías’ ex-wife and his business rival, because she lives in his shadow, marking his steps and, whenever possible, surpassing him in achieving success.
And finally, there’s Jimena (Malena Villa), Matías’ faithful sidekick, a young prodigy on the internet, capable of finding any information about anyone.
EL LOBISTA goes deep into the look of the lobbyist’s relationship with his interlocutors, be they politicians, governors, judges, investors, religious and even less-ranked officials with whom Matías gets access to many things exchanging for football tickets or simply a moment of interest. in their toughts.
There are moments in the plot where exaggerations fell against the final result. But there are very few. For the most part, EL LOBISTA is a first-rate product, intelligent, critical, forceful and very interesting to look at.
I highly recommend EL LOBISTA. It is a series with immense merits.
