Volta e meia somos levados a ver um filme apenas por encontrar no elenco o nome de uma grande atriz ou ator.
Ontem, encontrei no app TUBI TV, o filme A CONVOCAÇÃO (THE CALLING), um thriller de 2014, dirigido pelo cineasta sul-africano Jason Stone.
O cast é liderado por Susan Sarandon, a atriz americana ganhadora do Oscar (DEAD MAN WALKING) e do BAFTA (THE CLIENT).
Sou fã de carteirinha de Susan Sarandon. Aqui ela vive a problemática detetive Hazell Mikallef, viciada em álcool e analgésicos, oprimida pela mãe ex-juíza (Ellen Burstyn, ótima), perseguida pela chefia por ter tentado o suicídio e atormentada por crimes bárbaros que sacodem a pacata cidade de Fort Dundas.
Os crimes têm uma batida religiosa, quase ritualística. Qual a relação entre as vítimas.
Isto vai tirar o sono de Hazell que, ao contrário de seus chefes, vê ligações entre os assassinatos.
O elenco (ótimo) ainda tem Donald Sutherland, Gill Bellows, Topher Grace, Christopher Hayedall e Katry Breier.
Vi com imensa atenção a trama até o final.
Uma grande atriz sempre vale a pena ver.

I’m a fan of Susan Sarandon’s. Here she plays the troubled detective Hazell Mikallef, addicted to alcohol and painkillers, oppressed by her ex-judge mother (Ellen Burstyn, great), persecuted by the boss for having attempted suicide and tormented by barbaric crimes that shake the quiet town of Fort Dundas.
The crimes have a religious, almost ritualistic beat. What is the relationship between the victims?
This will keep Hazell awake at night, who, unlike her bosses, sees links between the murders.
The cast (great) still has Donald Sutherland, Gill Bellows, Topher Grace, Christopher Hayedall and Katy Breier.
I watched the plot with great attention until the end.
A great actress is always worth seeing.
