Hoje nos streamings há uma profusão de séries européias sobre figuras renascentistas (ou pré ou pós) famosas e suas aventuras até a imortalidade: Da Vinci, Marco Polo, os Borgias, os Médicis, os Papas, os reis e rainhas.
Todas abraçam características comuns: histórias interessantes, personagens históricos famosos, intrigas palacianas, peste, guerras, traições, amizades e muitas cenas de alcova onde as moças exibem generosamente seus dotes físicos privilegiados.
Ontem vi dois capítulos de MEDICI, um destas séries modernas sobre figuras hiostóricas. A série teve três temporas de 24 episódios.
O personagem central é o jovem Lorenzo de Médici (o ator inglês Daniel Sharman) que herda as virtudes e os problemas de seu pai (Julian Sands) e tem que enfrentar a ganância e a violência do invejoso Jacopo de Pazzi (Sean Bean).
Como é comum nestas produções, além da primorosa reconstituição de época, o elenco é o ponto forte, reunindo nomes de peso: Dustin Hoffman faz uma participação. Tem Bradley James, o hoje famoso Richard Madden (O GUARDA COSTA), Francesco Montanari, Stuart Martin, Sebastian de Souza, Brian Cox e John Lynch.
Além disso, o elenco feminino, além de múltiplo e talentoso, mostra personagens essenciais à trama: a italiana Alessandra Mastronardi, a norueguesa Synnove Karlsen, a britânica Annabel Scholey, Sarah Parish, Aurora Ruffino.
O interesse nas figuras históricas e a excelência da produção são elementos suficientes para manter alto o interesse do espectador.
MEDICI é outra série do gênero que merece ser vista.

Yesterday I saw two chapters of MEDICI, one of these modern series about historical figures.
The series ran for three seasons of 24 episodes.
The central character is the young Lorenzo de Medici (English actor Daniel Sharman) who inherits the virtues and problems of his father (Julian Sands) and has to face the greed and violence of the envious Jacopo de Pazzi (Sean Bean).
As is common in these productions, in addition to the exquisite reenactment of the period, the cast is the strong point, bringing together strong names: Dustin Hoffman makes an appearance.
