JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION, do cineasta Colin Trevorrow, em cartaz na Apple TV, Peacock e NOW é o sexto filme oficial da franquia criada por Steven Spielberg, quando os dinossauros voltaram à vida, em 1993, no original JURASSIC PARK.
Como em vários dos filmes anteriores, a fórmula escolhida é a mesma: investimento forte em dinossauros ou feito com animatronics (bonecos) ou CGI (efeitos digitais), cenas bucólicas de dinossauros enormes se alimentando de vegetais alternadas com cenas muito violentas de dinossauros carnívoros comendo bichos e pessoas com igual volúpia, vilões jamesbondianos querendo enriquecer (mais) com maracutaias jurássicas (que sempre terminam devorados por dinossauros horríveis), e mocinhos com olhar afetuosos sobre os dinossauros tentando manter o meio ambiente saudável.
Neste episódios em particular, o roteiro e a direção acharam que o cardápio estava pequeno e resolveram colocar no liquidificador mais alguns elementos: há cenas de western, com um dos mocinhos perseguindo dinossauros a cavalo, no melhor estilo John Wayne, há cenas de perseguição de dinossauros a carros e motos em ritmo frenético, à la Indiana Jones e cenas de um avião em chamas com a piloto talentosa tentando salvar os heróicos passageiros.
É tanta coisa misturada que, ao menos para mim, se criou uma curtição ao longo dos 147 minutos do filme: brincar de identificar de onde tal e qual cena tinha sido “inspirada”. JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION lembra aqueles programas sobre a história do cinema, onde se faz um clip com cenas de dezenas de filmes clássicos emendados. Me diverti muito.
O elenco é um álbum de figurinhas: voltam os heróis atuais, Chris Pratt e Bryce Dallas Howard (um pouquinho gordinha), e reaparecem os heróis antigos Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum e Laura Dern (muito bem). O futuro da franquia é garantido com a presença da jovem atriz inglesa Isabella Sermon. Há a cota de diversidade, apresentando a ótima DeWanda Wise e Mamoudou Athier, mais Omar Sy, BD Wong, Daniella Pineda e a atriz Nepalesa Diche Lachen. O vilão da vez é Campbell Scott.
Há uma boa dose de “gore”, com pessoas mastigadas, churrasquinho de dinossauro no submundo do crime e gosmas nojentas cuspidas pelos dinossauros vilões.
Não sei se este JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION encerrou a série. Ou se daqui há alguns anos, alguém vai inventar de fazer o mesmo filme mais uma vez.
Para mim, os dinossauros digitais merecem descanso.

As in several of the previous films, the formula chosen is the same: strong investment in dinosaurs or made with animatronics (dolls) or CGI (digital effects), bucolic scenes of huge dinosaurs feeding on vegetables alternated with very violent scenes of carnivorous dinosaurs eating animals and people with equal voluptuousness, Jamesbondian villains wanting to enrich themselves (more) with jurassic schemes (which always end up devoured by horrible dinosaurs), and good guys with an affectionate look at dinosaurs trying to keep the environment healthy.
In this particular episode, the script and the direction thought that the menu was small and decided to put some more elements in the blender: there are western scenes, with one of the good guys chasing dinosaurs on horseback, in the best John Wayne style, there are scenes of chasing dinosaurs to cars and motorcycles at a frenetic pace, à la Indiana Jones and scenes of a burning plane with the talented pilot trying to save the heroic passengers.
There are so many things mixed up that, at least for me, there was an enjoyment throughout the 147 minutes of the film: playing to identify where such and which scene had been “inspired” from. JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION reminds us of those programs about the history of cinema or Academy Awards ceremony, where a clip is made with scenes from dozens of classic films spliced together. I had a lot of fun.
The cast is a sticker album: current heroes Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard (a little chubby) return, and former heroes Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern (very well) reappear . The future of the franchise is guaranteed with the presence of the young English actress Isabella Sermon. There’s the share of diversity, featuring the great DeWanda Wise and Mamoudou Athier, plus Omar Sy, BD Wong, Daniella Pineda and Nepali actress Diche Lachen. The villain of the time is Campbell Scott.
There’s a good dose of gore, with people chewed up, dinosaur barbecue in the criminal underworld, and disgusting goo spitting out by the villainous dinosaurs.
I don’t know if this JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION ended the series. Or if in a few years, someone will invent the same movie again.
For me, digital dinosaurs deserve a break.
