Meu amigo José Maurício Pires Alves publicou ontem sua primeira CTPS para celebrar o dia do radialista, 21 de setembro.
A propósito, me lembrei de um excelente filme – entre tantos – que versam sobre a apaixonante profissão de radialista: BOA NOITE, BOA SORTE, dirigido por George Clooney (sim, ele mesmo, o galã NESPRESSO).
O filme mostra a história do radialista Edward R. Murrow, da CBS que enfrentou de frente o Senador Joseph McCarthy e sua Lista Negra, nos anos 50.
Há muitas coisas notáveis no filme. A primeira que me vem à mente é a extraordinária fotografia em preto e branco, de autoria de Robert Elswit. Vi o filme há 15 anos atrás, mas lembro com perfeição das imagens claro escuro, com a fumaça dos cigarros fumados ininterruptamente por Murrow como um recurso cênico incrível.
O grande David Strathairn vive Murrow. Jeff Daniels, George Clooney, Patricia Clarkson, Robert Downey Jr. e Tom McCarthy fazem um ótimo elenco.
A luta do radialista pelos valores em que acredita, “no matter what” é nada menos que emocionante.
É impressionante como os grandes filmes ficam cada dia mais atuais.
Um filmaço.

By the way, I remembered an excellent film – among many – that deal with the passionate profession of radio broadcaster: GOOD NIGHT, GOOD LUCK, directed by George Clooney (yes, himself, the NESPRESSO man).
The film shows the story of CBS broadcaster Edward R. Murrow who faced Senator Joseph McCarthy and his Black List head-on in the 1950s.
There are many notable things in the film. The first that comes to mind is the extraordinary black and white photograph by Robert Elswit. I saw the film 15 years ago, but I vividly remember the light-dark images, with the smoke of cigarettes smoked non-stop by Murrow as an incredible scenic resource.
The great David Strathairn plays Murrow. Jeff Daniels, George Clooney, Patricia Clarkson, Robert Downey Jr. and Tom McCarthy make a great cast.
The broadcaster’s struggle for the values he believes in, “no matter what” is nothing short of exciting.
It’s amazing how the great movies are getting more current every day.
