O Paramount+ está mostrando a nova série da CBS, intitulada FIRE COUNTRY.
Achei a história bastante forçada. Um presidiário (de bom coração) tenta a liberdade condicional, mas quando esta é negada vê como única alternativa se inscrever em um programa para bombeiros voluntários. Ocorre que ele é enviada justamente para sua cidade natal, onde cometera o crime que o levou à prisão.
As cenas dos incêndios nas florestas são muito bem feitas e impressionam bastante.
O elenco tem bons nomes como Diane Farr, Billy Burke e os novos Max Thieriot, Stephanie Arcilla, Jordan Calloway e Jules Latimer.
Pelo primeiro episódio achei demais a coincidência do protagonista ser indicado para sua própria cidade para cumprir uma pena alternativa tão complexa como ser bombeiro florestal.
Esta na cara que ele vai virar herói e terá a pena comutada.
Mas até lá muita árvore vai queimar.

I found the story quite forced. A (good-hearted) inmate tries out for parole, but when it’s denied, he sees his only alternative as enrolling in a program for volunteer firefighters. It happens that he is sent precisely to his hometown, where he had committed the crime that led to his arrest.
The scenes of the forest fires are very well done and very impressive.
The cast has good names like Diane Farr, Billy Burke and the new Max Thieriot, Stephanie Arcilla, Jordan Calloway and Jules Latimer.
For the first episode, I thought it was too much the coincidence of the protagonist being nominated for his own city to serve an alternative sentence as complex as being a forest firefighter.
It’s obvious that he’s going to become a hero and his sentence will be commuted.
But until then many trees will burn.
