Já comentei aqui as duas primeiras temporadas de DEADWIND, uma série finlandesa que chegou até nós graças à NETFLIX. O maior destaque das duas histórias anteriores era a detetive Sofia Karrpi, vivida com rara garra pela atriz, roteirista e diretora Pihla Viitala, uma jovem nascida em Helsinki, em 1982 e que já atuou em 44 filmes.
Nesta terceira temporada, Karrpi é reintegrada à Polícia (no opus dois tinha sido afastada por não seguir ordens inequivocamente ruins de seus superiores) para investigar o caso de uma cientista que é encontrada morta dentro de uma pequena jaula.
Na melhor tradição Nordic Noir, os crimes são bárbaros e os policiais cheios de traumas, problemas e hesitações. Ah, a paisagem gelada é, outra vez, um importante personagem da história.
O parceiro de Karppi nesta investigação é o turrão Sakari Nurmi (Lauri Tilkanen), corajoso, frio e determinado.
A trama aborda testes com animais, contrabando de pessoas, mega corporações de propósitos obscuros, indústria farmacêutica, dependência de drogas. Só barra pesada.
Mas, em meio a tudo isso, Karppi ainda acha tempo para investigar em paralelo a morte do marido dela, atropelado em uma estrada anos atrás.
Acho DEADWIND uma das melhores séries que vem do frio. Apesar do climagélido da paisagem, tem calor e alma.

I have already commented here on the first two seasons of DEADWIND, a Finnish series that came to us thanks to NETFLIX. The biggest highlight of the two previous stories was the detective Sofia Karrpi, lived with rare vigor by the actress, screenwriter and director Pihla Viitala, a young woman born in Helsinki in 1982 and who has acted in 44 films.
In this third season, Karrpi is reinstated to the Police (in opus two she had been removed for not following unequivocally bad orders from her superiors) to investigate the case of a scientist who is found dead inside a small cage.
In the best Nordic Noir tradition, the crimes are barbaric and the cops are full of trauma, trouble and hesitation. Ah, the icy landscape is, again, an important character in the story.
Karppi’s partner in this investigation is the tough guy Sakari Nurmi (Lauri Tilkanen), brave, cold and determined.
The plot deals with animal testing, human smuggling, mega corporations for shady purposes, the pharmaceutical industry, drug addiction. Just heavy subjects.
But amidst all this, Karppi still finds time to parallel investigate the death of her husband, who was run over on a road years ago.
I think DEADWIND is one of the best series that comes out of the cold. Despite the icy climate of the landscape, it has warmth and soul.
