O CONVIDADO DE HOJE DO CINEMARCO É O CINÉFILO FLÁVIO BALESTRERI.
Há alguns meses, andei lendo que o longa-metragem MÁ SORTE NO SEXO OU PORNÔ ACIDENTAL (2021), que tem roteiro e direção do romeno Radu Jude, teria sido exibido em pré-estreia em uma sala da Capital. Fã que sou do trabalho de Jude, de quem já conhecia AFERIM! (2015), uma fábula vencedora do Festival de Berlim 2015 na categoria de melhor diretor e também escolhida como representante da Romênia na competição do Oscar de melhor filme estrangeiro da edição de 2016, e o ótimo EU NÃO ME IMPORTO SE ENTRARMOS PARA A HISTÓRIA COMO BÁRBAROS (2018), uma comédia com humor bastante ácido.
Cansado de esperar que algum cinema local exibisse o novo filme, outra comédia de humor ácido, credenciado com o Urso de Ouro no Festival de Berlim e como representante da Romênia no Oscar, me preparei para assiti-lo quando chegasse a alguma plataforma de streaming. E valeu ter esperado. Jude entrega outro grande trabalho.
Já nas primeiras imagens acabo suspeitando do motivo de MÁ SORTE NO SEXO OU PORNÔ ACIDENTAL não ter sido exibido em nossa cidade. Cheguei a pensar que tivesse errado de filme. Há, no início, uma cena de sexo bastante explícita: Emilia (Katia Pascariu, substituída por dublê em algumas partes), uma professora primária de uma escola conservadora de Bucareste, está na cama com seu marido Eugen (interpretado pelo ator pornô Ştefan Steel), ocupada fazendo… bem, mais ou menos o que qualquer um que ama sexo faria em um cama. Não está sendo jogada uma cartada tímida aqui, e também não se acha que o espectador tirará os olhos da tela da TV, embora seja raro ver uma cena tão detalhada ao nível dos olhos. E com diálogos bem picantes.
Após esse preâmbulo úmido, vemos Emi andando freneticamente pelas ruas barulhentas de Bucareste, em tempos de pandemia de Covid, e descobrimos pouco a pouco que o vídeo de suas travessuras produzido por Eugen agora viralizou na Internet. Mesmo tendo usado máscaras, ela é identificada, o que ameaça a posição de Emi na escola. É obscena. Ela é uma professora que deve ser um modelo. Todo mundo tem uma opinião sobre essa história e o debate vira um tribunal…
E as reações dos pais dos alunos diante do escândalo foram imediatamente para o julgamento, até mesmo para a fogueira. Emi se vê presa em um turbilhão de reações tão indignadas e estúpidas que se assemelham a certas trocas no Twitter. Diante dela, homens e mulheres competem de má-fé, ignorância, postura moral e falsa indignação.
Jude divide o filme em vários atos, primeiro colocando o espectador no lugar de Emi e depois praticamente o forçando, na última parte, a se juntar ao “júri” de um tribunal obsceno. Os pais dos alunos (o militar, o piloto fascista, a mãe xenófoba, a mãe corrupta…), todos eles extremamente misóginos, condenam o vídeo da professora, mas ignoram propositadamente que aquilo é sua vida íntima sendo devassada. Várias discussões vão surgindo. Há o negacionismo (em relação à pandemia e até ao Holocausto) e o preconceito contra ciganos e imigrantes na Europa. E o contexto em tempos de Covid também rende algumas pérolas, como quando alguém gritar: “Não queremos ser cobaias, é só uma gripezinha”.
Jude manipula tantos temas aqui, desde as existências cuidadosamente editadas da geração do Facebook até preconceitos sobre como um filme deveria ser, mantendo o espectador em alerta a cada momento para ocasionalmente surrá-lo com uma decisão. O cineasta usa seu talento para comentar sobre nossa hipocrisia, nosso racismo e… claro, nossa pura estupidez.
Ácido, debochado e ousado, Radu Jude nos proporciona um belíssimo manifesto. Isso, mais o notável desempenho de Katia Pascariu, coloca MÁ SORTE NO SEXO OU PORNÔ ACIDENTAL como um dos melhores filmes que assisti este ano.

A few months ago, I’ve been reading that the feature film BAD LUCK BANGING OR LOONY PORN (2021), which has a script and direction by the Romanian Radu Jude, would have been shown in a preview room in the Capital. I’m a fan of Jude’s work, from whom I already knew AFERIM! (2015), a fable that won the Berlin Film Festival 2015 in the category of best director and also chosen as Romania’s representative in the Oscar competition for best foreign film in the 2016 edition, and the great I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as BarbariansI (2018), a comedy with very acid humor.
Tired of waiting for a local cinema to show the new film, another acid comedy, accredited with the Golden Bear at the Berlin Festival and as Romania’s representative at the Oscars, I prepared myself to watch it when it arrived on some streaming platform. And it was worth the wait. Jude delivers another great job.
Already in the first images I end up suspecting the reason for BAD LUCK BANGING OR LOONY PORN has not been shown in our city. I thought I had the wrong movie. There is, at the beginning, a very explicit sex scene: Emilia (Katia Pascariu, replaced by a stunt double in some parts), a primary teacher at a conservative school in Bucharest, is in bed with her husband Eugen (played by porn actor Ştefan Steel) , busy doing…well, pretty much what anyone who loves sex would do in a bed. A shy card isn’t being played here, and the viewer isn’t expected to take their eyes off the TV screen either, although it’s rare to see such a detailed scene at eye level. And with very spicy dialogues.
After this damp preamble, we see Emi frantically walking through the noisy streets of Bucharest, in times of the Covid pandemic, and we discover little by little that the video of her antics produced by Eugen has now gone viral on the Internet. Even though she has worn masks, she is identified, which threatens Emi’s position at school. She is obscene. She is a teacher who should be a role model. Everyone has an opinion on this story and the debate becomes a courtroom…
And the reactions of the students’ parents in the face of the scandal immediately went to trial, even to the stake. Emi finds herself caught in a whirlwind of reactions so outraged and stupid they resemble certain exchanges on Twitter. Before it, men and women compete in bad faith, ignorance, moral posture and false indignation.
Jude splits the film into several acts, first putting the viewer in Emi’s shoes and then practically forcing him, in the last part, to join the “jury” of an obscene courtroom. The students’ parents (the military man, the fascist pilot, the xenophobic mother, the corrupt mother…), all of whom are extremely misogynistic, condemn the teacher’s video, but purposely ignore that it is her intimate life being invaded. Several discussions arise. There is denialism (in relation to the pandemic and even the Holocaust) and prejudice against Roma and immigrants in Europe. And the context in times of Covid also yields some pearls, like when someone shouts: “We don’t want to be guinea pigs, it’s just a little flu”.
Jude juggles so many themes here, from the carefully edited existences of the Facebook generation to preconceptions about what a movie should look like, keeping the viewer on their toes at every moment to occasionally pummel them with a decision. The filmmaker uses his talent to comment on our hypocrisy, our racism and… of course, our sheer stupidity.
Acid, mocking and daring, Radu Jude provides us with a beautiful manifesto. That, plus Katia Pascariu’s remarkable performance, ranks BAD LUCK BANGING OR LOONY PORN as one of the best movies I’ve seen this year.
