O mundo de entretenimento elogiou muito a série DARK, em cartaz na NETFLIX.
O sucesso foi tanto que já saiu uma nova produção dos mesmos responsáveis por DARK. Trata-se de 1899, uma trama de mistério sobre um transatlântico que se depara com outro navio que ficou à deriva sem nenhum dos milhares de passageiros a bordo.
Vi dois dos oito episódios dessa primeira temporada.
Embora seja forçoso reconhecer que a produção é esmerada (inclusive com efeitos especiais ótimos), confesso que me incomodou a opção do mistério pelo mistério. Os produtores escolheram que cada rosto, cada objeto, cada sala, cada situação vem à tela com o único propósito de provocar perguntas no espectador.
Já há matérias e matérias sobre as perguntas não respondidas nessa primeira temporada, porque já está definido que 1899 terá seu opus dois.
Lembro que a épica série LOST foi magistral em fazer isso. Cada final de episódio surgia alguma coisa que iria deixar os espectadores desconcertados por uma semana até o próximo episódio. É o famoso “cliffhanger” que nos antigos seriados do cinema deixava todos em suspense por uma semana.
Não vou fazer um juízo negativo sobre a série 1899. A ótima produção e o elenco correto (destaques para a atriz inglesa Emily Beecham e o ator alemão Andreas Pietschmann) seguram o elevado patamar da série. Com certeza vai ter milhões de fãs ávidos por descobrir as respostas das dezenas de perguntas intrigantes.
Eu não vou embarcar nem no navio Kerberos (com seus passageiros cheios de olhares de soslaio) e nem no deserto navio Prometheus.

It was so successful that a new production by the same people responsible for DARK has already been released. It is 1899, a mystery plot about a transatlantic that comes across another ship that was adrift without any of the thousands of passengers on board.
I saw two of the eight episodes of that first season.
Although it must be recognized that the production is meticulous (including great special effects), I confess that the option of mystery for mystery’s sake bothered me. The producers chose that every face, every object, every room, every situation comes to the screen with the sole purpose of provoking questions in the viewer.
There are already articles and articles about the unanswered questions in this first season, because it is already defined that 1899 will have its opus two.
I remember the epic series LOST being masterful in doing this. Every episode finale came up with something that would leave viewers baffled for a week leading up to the next episode. It’s the famous “cliffhanger” that in old movie series left everyone in suspense for a week.
I’m not going to make a negative judgment about the 1899 series. The great production and the correct cast (highlights for the English actress Emily Beecham and the German actor Andreas Pietschmann) maintain the high level of the series. It’s sure to have millions of fans eager to find out the answers to dozens of intriguing questions.
I will not board either the ship Kerberos (with its passengers full of sidelong glances) or the desert ship Prometheus.
