O ponto de partida da série espanhola EXPRESS, em cartaz no STAR+ é bem interessante.
Uma psicóloga criminal de elite não se conforma que o trabalho da Polícia em casos de sequestro relâmpagos seja condicionado por limites burocráticos que, na visão dela dificultam ou impedem o sucesso na busca de salvar os sequestrados.
Após uma briga com seu chefe, ela se demite da Polícia e vai trabalhar para a misteriosa milionária dona da maior seguradora local (Kiti Manver). A ideia é montar uma equipe anti sequestro na Seguradora com ela na chefia. O time tem um hacker jovem e genial (Omar Banana), uma especialista em drones (Dulce Morelos), uma professora de criminalística quase cega que desenvolveu uma audição extraordinária (Carmen Daza) e um sequestrador contumaz que abandonou este tipo de crime (Bernardo Flores).
O grupo tem vários desafios pela frente. Resolver os casos, se harmonizar internamente, superar barreiras legais e éticas e não ser visto pela Polícia como um grupo paramilitar ilegal.
A série investe forte nos traumas que ficam para uma pessoa sequestrada, mesmo que seu resgate seja bem sucedido. As horas de terror e ameaças seguidas de morte, as costumeiras amputações para dar prova de vida, a brutalidade dos sequestradoras, tudo que fica para sempre, está presente na vida da ex-Policial Bárbara Vasquez ( ótimo trabalho da atriz Andaluzia Maggie Civantos) que foi, ela mesma, vítima de um crime desses.
Para complicar, Bárbara enfrenta uma separação do marido, o também Policial Santa Varela (Esteban Meloni) e as crises das duas filhas, uma adolescente rebelde, Gus (Alba Planas) e uma menina Camila (Manuela Rojas).
A primeira temporada teve oito episódios. Já vi quatro deles. Acho que a premissa original deu uma caída lá pelo quarto capítulo.
EXPRESS teve uma segunda temporada ainda não disponível.
Na minha opinião, por tratar de um tema muito atual, a série merece bastante ser vista.

An elite criminal psychologist does not accept that the work of the Police in cases of lightning kidnapping is conditioned by bureaucratic limits that, in her view, hinder or prevent success in the quest to save the kidnapped.
After a fight with her boss, she resigns from the Police and goes to work for the mysterious millionaire owner of the largest local insurance company (Kiti Manver). The idea is to set up an anti-kidnapping team at the Seguradora with her at the head. The team has a brilliant young hacker (Omar Banana), a specialist in drones (Dulce Morelos), an almost blind professor of criminalistics who has developed extraordinary hearing (Carmen Daza) and a stubborn kidnapper who has abandoned this type of crime (Bernardo Flores).
The group has several challenges ahead. Solving cases, harmonizing internally, overcoming legal and ethical barriers and not being seen by the Police as an illegal paramilitary group.
The series invests heavily in the traumas that remain for a kidnapped person, even if their rescue is successful. The hours of terror and threats followed by death, the customary amputations to prove life, the brutality of the kidnappers, everything that stays forever, is present in the life of the former Police Officer Bárbara Vasquez (great work by the Andalusian actress Maggie Civantos) who was herself the victim of such a crime.
To complicate matters, Bárbara faces a separation from her husband, another police officer Santa Varela (Esteban Meloni) and the crises of her two daughters, a rebellious teenager, Gus (Alba Planas) and a girl Camila (Manuela Rojas).
The first season had eight episodes. I’ve seen four of them. I think the original premise took a hit by the fourth chapter.
EXPRESS had a second season not yet available.
In my opinion, as it deals with a very current topic, the series deserves to be seen.
