A NETFLIX está exibindo a série DESPERCEBIDA (UNSEEN), produzida e filmada na África do Sul.
Uma mulher pobre – que ganha a vida fazendo faxinas em casas de ricos sul-africanos – vai esperar o marido no dia em que ela sai da penitenciária, onde cumpre pena por um crime que não cometeu. O marido já tinha saído e está desaparecido.
Desesperada, ela vai procurar todos os conhecidos dele, em busca de informações.
Zenzi (Gail Mabalane) vai desenvolver uma verdadeira Via Sacra no submundo de drogas, armas e marginais com quem o sumido se relacionava.
A nota peculiar é que, para se defender, a desamparada Zenzi – ignorada por todos, inclusive as autoridades – passa a matar os potenciais responsáveis pelo sumiço do marido.
O filme dá uma guinada e coloca Zenzi, além de todos os problemas que têm, como perseguida pela Polícia.
Gostei de UNSEEN. Tem o mérito inegável de nos trazer uma narrativa policial sul-africana.
Mais que isto, desenvolve bem seu enredo.
Zenzi luta pela vida com as armas que tem à mão.
Sem julgamentos morais, Zenzi busca justiça entre os despercebidos.

A poor woman-who earns her living by cleaning the homes of wealthy South Africans-will be waiting for her husband the day he leaves prison, where he is serving time for a crime he did not commit. The husband had already left and is missing.
Desperate, she goes to look for all his acquaintances, in search of information.
Zenzi (Gail Mabalane) will develop a true Via Sacra in the underworld of drugs, weapons and criminals with whom the missing had a relationship.
The peculiar note is that, to defend herself, the helpless Zenzi – ignored by everyone, including the authorities – starts to kill those potentially responsible for her husband’s disappearance.
The film takes a turn and places Zenzi, in addition to all the problems they have, as being pursued by the Police.
I liked UNSEEN. It has the undeniable merit of bringing us a South African police narrative.
More than that, it develops its plot well.
Zenzi fights for her life with the weapons she has at hand.
Without moral judgments, Zenzi seeks justice among the unseen.
