O app LIONSGATE do Amazon Prime Video está mostrando a série franco-canadense de seis capítulos, intitulada MIRAGE.
Uma mulher perdeu (ou julga que perdeu) o marido no Tsunami da Indonésia, em 2004, quando os dois passavam uma lua de mel naquele local paradisíaco.
Quinze anos depois, quando está com o novo marido e o filho em férias em Abu Dhabi, ela reencontra o antigo marido e é envolvida numa trama de espionagem internacional, ameaças nucleares e tentativas de assassinato em ambientes luxuosos dos Emirados Árabes.
A hoje usual alternância de tempos de narrativas entre o passado e o presente é apenas um dos toques que os produtores lançam mão para segurar a atenção do espectador. O que realmente houve com o marido dela, em 2004? Por que ele resolveu se passar por morto e deixá-la sofrer com aquela tragédia?
O elenco é outro ponto forte de MIRAGE. Claire Kohler, a protagonista é vivida pela ótima atriz canadense Marie-Josée Croze, vista em INVASÕES BÁRBARAS e MUNICH. Gabriel Taylor, o marido desaparecido no tsunami é o ator britânico Clive Standen, de VIKINGS e da série TAKEN. Ainda tem a franco-canadense Maxim Roy, multi premiada atriz de SHADOWHUNTERS e MOONFALL.
É claro que os deslumbrantes cenários dos Emirados Árabes, com seus edifícios majestosos, desertos belíssimos e festas milionárias são outro elemento de alto interesse da série.
Ainda estou me meio à MIRAGE.
Mas já conclui que é uma série muito bem feita e repleta de pontos de interesse.
Vou seguir vendo.

A woman lost (or thinks she lost) her husband in the Indonesian Tsunami in 2004, when the two spent a honeymoon in that paradisiacal location.
Fifteen years later, when she is with her new husband and son on vacation in Abu Dhabi, she meets her former husband again and is involved in a plot of international espionage, nuclear threats and assassination attempts in luxurious surroundings of the United Arab Emirates.
The now usual alternation of narrative times between the past and the present is just one of the touches that the producers use to hold the viewer’s attention. What really happened to her husband in 2004? Why did he decide to pretend to be dead and let her suffer with that tragedy?
The cast is another strength of MIRAGE. Claire Kohler, the protagonist is lived by the great Canadian actress Marie-Josée Croze, seen in BARBARIAN INVASIONS and MUNICH. Gabriel Taylor, the husband missing in the tsunami is British actor Clive Standen, from VIKINGS and the series TAKEN. He still has French-Canadian Maxim Roy, multi-award winning actress from SHADOWHUNTERS and MOONFALL.
Of course, the stunning scenery of the United Arab Emirates, with its majestic buildings, beautiful deserts and millionaire parties are another element of high interest in the series.
I’m still halfway through MIRAGE.
But I already conclude that it is a very well done series and full of points of interest.
