Olsen consegue mesclar em sua interpretação uma sensualidade contida, uma religiosidade opressora e uma violência inesperada. Sua Candy é um personagem fascinante.
Jesse Plemons, que vive o ex-amante Allan Gore também está muito bem.
Mas o contexto todo em que se deu o crime assustador do Texas é que serve de pano de fundo para a trama.
As pessoas rezam o tempo inteiro, vivem em torno da Igreja e dos cultos, participam do coral com louvores permanentes a Deus e, nas suas vidas particulares cometem atos como o de Candy.
Esse quinto episódio foi o melhor até agora. A entrada da imprensa na cobertura do caso e a ação das autoridades contra Candy aumentou a tensão da história.

This is the real case of Candy Montgomery, a quiet and religious Texan housewife who killed with an ax the wife of a neighbor with whom Candy had an affair.
The episode had already spawned the series CANDY, starring Jessica Biel.
David E, Kelley‘s production for HBO is cinema of the highest quality.
Much is thanks to the talent of Elizabeth Olsen, who had already rehearsed great roles in MARVEL films, but who gives a show as the woman out of her mind capable of savagely killing a friend and, on the same night, taking the children to the cinema.
Olsen manages to mix a contained sensuality, an oppressive religiosity and unexpected violence in her interpretation. Her Candy is a fascinating character.
Jesse Plemons, who lives ex-lover Allan Gore is also doing very well.
But the whole context in which the frightening crime in Texas took place is what serves as the backdrop for the plot.
People pray all the time, live around the Church and services, participate in the choir with permanent praises to God and, in their private lives, they commit acts like Candy’s.
This fifth episode was the best so far. Press input into coverage of the case and the authorities’ action against Candy added more tension to the story.
