Kate Hudson (lindíssima) vive a escritora Andie que está fazendo uma pauta sobre como uma mulher pode fazer um namorado perder o interesse nela em 10 dias. O alvo da reportagem é o exitoso publicitário e conquistador Ben (Matthew McConaughey) que, por seu lado, apostara com dois colegas de agência que faria qualquer mulher se apaixonar por ele em 10 dias.
As pautas opostas se chocam de modo engraçadíssimo.
Apesar de situado no Upper East Side de New York, o filme tem em seu roteiro inúmeras situações fáceis de reconhecer na vida de qualquer casal, seja em que fase do relacionamento estejam, o que confere à história uma insuspeitada realidade.
Claro que, como em toda ótima comédia romântica, os dois jovens vão terminar juntos e o amor vence todas as dificuldades.
